A Creative and Collaborative Community: AUB fosters a close-knit community of like-minded individuals passionate about the arts.
Collaboration is a key aspect, with opportunities to work with students from different courses, mirroring the interdisciplinary nature of the creative industries. The university aims to create a microcosm of the creative industries, encouraging a vibrant "maker culture."

Specialist Facilities and Resources: AUB invests heavily in industry-standard facilities and equipment to provide students with the best tools for their chosen fields.
Notable facilities include the Drawing Studio (the first purpose-built drawing studio in the UK for 100 years), TheGallery (a public art and design gallery), and MoDiP (Museum of Design in Plastics). Bournemouth Film School (BFS) is the largest film school outside of London, offering extensive resources for aspiring filmmakers.

AUB has also acquired the Palace Court Theatre in Bournemouth town center, providing a 550-seat venue for student and community events. In 2023, AUB launched AUBMakers, a student-led pop-up shop in Poole town center for students to sell their work.

Vibrant Location:

AUB is situated on the border between Bournemouth and Poole, offering access to the best of both towns. Bournemouth is a popular student destination with seven miles of sandy beaches, a lively nightlife, a diverse range of restaurants and shops, and a thriving arts scene.  The area boasts a variety of music and comedy venues, including the O2 Academy and the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC). The university is well-connected, with direct train services to London and other major cities. A dedicated university bus service links the campus with halls of residence and the town center.

Students' Union (AUBSU):

The AUBSU offers a wide range of clubs and societies run by students for students, catering to diverse interests like film, poetry, and sports. Students are encouraged to start their own societies if they can't find a pre-existing group that aligns with their interests. AUBSU provides support in various aspects of student life, including education, welfare, employment, sports, clubs, events, and societies. A student-run publication called BUMF and the BUMF:Gallery provide platforms for student creativity.
