Some students know they want a shared flat before they even begin looking for accommodation. Others would rather have a place where everything is their own. Mercury House falls into the second category.
Located on St. Peters Road in Bournemouth, the property offers self-contained studio rooms with utility bills included in the rent. Living here also means everyday places such as supermarkets, cafés, public transport, and the town centre are all within easy reach, making day-to-day life a little simpler once term begins.
Address: Mercury House, St. Peters Road, Bournemouth BH1 2NT
Moving somewhere new usually means working out where you'll buy groceries, grab lunch between lectures or spend an afternoon away from campus.
Students living at Mercury House have several of those places close by.
Tesco Express and ALDI are nearby for everyday shopping, while Turtle Bay Bournemouth, Cosy Club, and Arch Coffee House offer places to meet friends or take a break during the day. Hungry Tiger Bournemouth is also within easy reach for anyone looking for a local pub.
Bournemouth Seafront is one of the best-known parts of the town and can be reached without travelling far. Hamworthy Park provides another outdoor space nearby, while Bournemouth Library is available for students who prefer studying somewhere other than their room. Royal Bournemouth Hospital is also accessible from the property.
Public transport links around the area make it straightforward to travel to university campuses and other parts of Bournemouth throughout the week.
Most students stop thinking about accommodation once they've unpacked.
After that, attention usually shifts to everyday routines. How long does it take to reach lectures? Is there somewhere nearby to buy groceries? Can you cook when you want? Are monthly costs easy to keep track of?
Mercury House accommodation brings those practical details together.
Every room at the property is a studio.
That means residents have their own kitchen, bathroom, study space, and sleeping area without sharing those facilities with other students. Many people choose this type of accommodation because they prefer having a place that follows their own routine.
Your rent includes:
Electricity
Gas
Heating
Water
WiFi
With these costs already included, there are fewer things to organise after moving in and fewer separate household payments to think about during the academic year.
Although the accommodation is built around private studios, residents still have access to shared areas within the building.

I’ve had a really positive experience living at Mercury House as an international student from Asia. Honestly, I don’t have much to complain about. In my opinion, it’s the best student accommodations in Bournemouth no doubt. The staff are always friendly, approachable, and genuinely helpful. They organise different social events every week, which makes it easy to meet new people and creates a welcoming atmosphere. Staying here has truly felt like a home away from home. The rooms are clean, and the layout is practical and well suited to student life. The communal area is another great feature, with a pool table, a PS5, and plenty of board games for everyone to enjoy. The only minor downside is that rooms facing the sun can get quite warm during the summer, especially during heatwaves. However, this is only really noticeable during the hottest days of the year. Depending on your room’s location, you may also occasionally hear people walking to and from the nearby pub, although I didn’t find it to be a major issue.

I have been living at Mercury House and I am genuinely very happy with my experience here. The staff team is incredibly friendly, approachable, and always willing to help with any questions, concerns, or requests. They actively listen to residents and do their best to provide support whenever needed. One of the things I appreciate most is the strong sense of community. The accommodation organizes regular social events every week, which makes it easy to meet new people and feel connected. The staff are also supportive with everyday matters, not just accommodation-related issues, which has been especially valuable as an international student. The location is excellent, with easy access to the town centre, shops, restaurants, public transport, and the university. Everything I need is within convenient reach. My room is bright, spacious, and very practical. I particularly like the light-coloured furniture and the large windows, which make the space feel open and comfortable. There is also plenty of storage space, helping me keep everything organised. Overall, Mercury House has exceeded my expectations. The friendly atmosphere, supportive staff, excellent location, and comfortable living environment have made my student experience much more enjoyable. I would highly recommend it to any student looking for accommodation in Bournemouth.

I have been staying at Mercury House throughout my studies in Bournemouth since September, and I have been extremely happy with my experience so far. Moving to a new country and adapting to student life can be challenging, but Mercury House has provided me with a safe and comfortable place to live. The Mercury House team are always kind, friendly, and helpful. Whenever I need assistance, they respond quickly and make me feel valued and supported. This has been especially important while settling into life in Bournemouth. I am also very pleased with my room. It is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The furniture is modern and light-coloured, which makes the room feel bright and spacious. In addition, my room has three large windows that allow plenty of natural light throughout the day, creating a very pleasant and airy atmosphere. The social spaces are another great feature of the accommodation. The lobby includes a TV, a pool table, and a selection of board games, making it a nice place to relax and spend time with friends. I also appreciate that parcels are received and stored by the reception team, which makes day-to-day life much more convenient. The location is another major advantage of Mercury House. The town centre is only about a five-minute walk away, while the beach can be reached in around ten minutes. Restaurants, cafés, shops, and entertainment venues are also just a short walk from the accommodation. In addition, buses to Bournemouth University's Talbot Campus stop on the same street, making travel to and from university very easy. Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Mercury House so far. With its comfortable rooms, supportive staff, excellent location, and welcoming atmosphere, I would happily recommend it to any student considering accommodation in Bournemouth.

Amazing accommodation! Great view, lots of light and storage space. Looks brand new and is the perfect amount of space; comfy double bed and a good desk to work at. The bathroom is also a great size and has storage. Only a 2 minute walk from town. Everyone in the building is so friendly and the staff are amazingly helpful. (Also can’t seem to hear any music from Cameo so you don’t have to worry about that).

Been a student for the past last year and found Mercury house a very good accommodation. Ideally situated in Bournemouth, not far from the beach and nightlife. Staff very friendly espically Kate, Cass always happy to help. I would highly recommend any fellow students looking for a good, clean, friendly accommodation.
