About this property
Starting university in a new city usually means paying attention to practical things first. How long does it take to get to lectures from here? Is there a supermarket nearby? Can you walk into town without relying on buses every day?
Those questions explain why Broadcasting Tower Leeds accommodation catches the attention of so many students. The building stands on Woodhouse Lane, close to universities, shops, cafés, and public transport. It gives residents the option of living in a shared flat with an en-suite room or choosing a private studio with more personal space.
For many students, Leeds Broadcasting Tower becomes more than just an address. It sits close enough to university buildings and the city centre that daily routines usually feel simpler from the start.
Address: Woodhouse Lane, Leeds, LS2 9PD, United Kingdom
The location of Broadcasting Tower accommodation places students in one of the busiest university areas of Leeds.
Morning lectures rarely involve long journeys. A quick food shop after class doesn't require planning half the day around it. Meeting friends for coffee or heading into the city centre can easily fit in between classes, library sessions, and part-time work.
Several bus stops sit within a short walk of the building, including Fenton Street and Leeds University (Stop A), connecting residents with different parts of the city.
For groceries and daily essentials, students usually have several options nearby:
Tesco Express, Woodhouse Lane
Tesco Express, Burley Road
Morrisons, Merrion Centre
Living here also means some of Leeds' best-known shopping destinations sit within effortless reach. Trinity Leeds and Victoria Quarter attract students throughout the year for shopping, food, and entertainment.
Food options are equally convenient. Places such as Bundobust and BLACKHOUSE GASTROBAR are popular choices when cooking plans fall apart or friends suggest eating out after lectures.
Students who like to keep active will also find several fitness facilities nearby, including Leeds Beckett City Campus Gym, PureGym Leeds City Centre South, and Nuffield Health Leeds.
A room matters, but location usually shapes university life just as much. The reason many students shortlist Broadcasting Tower Leeds comes down to how naturally everything seems to fit together once the semester begins.
University Buildings Sit Nearby: Leeds Beckett University City Campus is only a short walk away, while the University of Leeds and Leeds Arts University are also close enough to reach easily. Less time commuting usually means more time for coursework, societies, part-time work, or simply sleeping a little longer before morning lectures.
The Building Is Difficult to Miss: Its rust-coloured exterior has become one of the city's most recognisable landmarks. Students frequently mention the building's appearance because it stands apart from many traditional student blocks across Leeds.
Different Room Types Suit Different Lifestyles: Some students like having flatmates around and enjoy spending time in shared kitchens. Others prefer returning to a private studio where they can cook, study, and relax on their schedule. Halls Broadcasting Tower offers both options.
Bills Stay Predictable: The rent already covers electricity, heating, water, broadband, Wi-Fi, and contents insurance. Students do not need to organise separate utility accounts or worry about unexpected bills appearing during the semester.
Spaces Outside Your Room Matter Too: University life rarely happens entirely inside a bedroom. The common room, study areas, games spaces, and outdoor courtyards give residents places to spend time outside their rooms, particularly during busy parts of the academic year.
Security Is Already Taken Care Of: Secure entry systems, CCTV coverage, and on-site management give students one less thing to think about while settling into a new city.
A room starts serving different purposes once the semester gets underway. One evening, you might cover it with notes before an exam; another night, you might catch up with family or watch something before bed. During colder months in Leeds, many students end up spending more time in their accommodation than they originally expected.
At Broadcasting Tower Leeds, accommodation includes both en-suite rooms and fully private studios, giving students the choice between shared living and complete independence.

Terrible staff service, extremely rude and unreasonable I have lived in this apartment for a long time. The official website clearly provides paid printing service for residents, and I used it smoothly the day before. However, the front desk staff named Ivy flatly refused to offer this basic service out of nowhere today. She denied the existence of the printing service directly, totally ignored the official rules and facts. What’s worse, she had an extremely arrogant, cold and disrespectful attitude towards residents, spoke in a rude tone and was totally unwilling to communicate properly. She deliberately made things difficult for tenants for no reason, which completely ruined my living experience here. This staff member lacks basic professional ethics and service awareness. I strongly suggest the management fire or retrain Ivy immediately. Very bad experience, never recommend anyone to rent here!

Staff enter rooms without permission and while you’re asleep. When I arrived I had an issue with my curtain (wouldn’t close properly) so I asked maintenance if they could do anything and they said they’d come the next day, I wake up to find my shower had been manually switched off at the wall, and maintenance did not come. Later in the year, a girl complains that maintenance had come in and done work while she was sleeping. The staff seemed to gloss this over. Some of the stuff are very nice but they are very intruding and invasive by constantly requesting access to rooms with not much clear reason other than “general maintenance and inspection”, I think it is a nice building in a great location but the invasion of privacy is unsettling and makes me uncomfortable going to sleep. Is it acceptable to enter rooms without permission or consent?
