I’ve had a really positive experience with UniHome. The accommodation is comfortable, well-maintained, and in a convenient location, which made settling in much easier. The staff have been friendly and helpful whenever I’ve needed assistance, and any issues I’ve raised have been dealt with professionally. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed my experience with UniHome and would definitely recommend it to other students and professionals looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

If you are a student, NEVER pay monthly billing payments early, it has been 2 weeks since i was charged for the month, despite paying off a lump sum payment during September. Every time you contact them, supposed “backlog” within the billing team is halting the reimbursement/direct debit cancellation. It feels at this point the money will never be returned and as a Uni student money is always tight, hopefully people UniHomes sort this out.

Bills completely simplified, all in one place which makes it super easy to track monthly payments. The phone helpline is also very useful, with friendly staff that will answer queries like how to change direct debits, how to take meter readings etc. Would highly recommend unihomes for finding second year housing :)

I dont write negative reviews ever. But this time it is absolutely abysmal and unacceptable. We moved into our student house with absolutely zero wifi available because a functioning router didnt exist. Imagine having uni work to complete but you cant even log into your uni account let alone messaging and communicating with others, on top of that you already got charged. Where is the common sense from UniHomes. I have emailed them several times about a date for which a router can be delivered to us and heres the most useful thing that i got: “We apologise for the delay with the Virgin Media broadband set up, this is a nationwide issue at the moment and they are working hard to resolve it however at the moment we are unable to give an estimated date.” Fantastic, so you have a nationwide issue but have absolutely no urgency to provide your customers with a definitive fix time frame whilst simultaneously charging them for your advertised package. By the way, we are not the only people this has happened to, read some of the other 1 star reviews, lots have had similar situation to us. We have had no option but to purchase additional mobile data packages on top our existing ones just to ‘get by’ if you like, which is a significant amount of money for us students. Ironic isnt it when UniHomes advertises themselves for uni students. I have also emailed them about some form of reimbursement and all i got back was essentially a ‘maybe’. Great fairness isnt it. UniHomes are great for if your trying to search for students houses local to your uni (at least in my experience) i wont deny that, but their bills package comes with so many issues, not just with wifi, but from the other reviews it seems they also dont pay the bills companies the tenants’s bills money leading to overdue bills letters being sent constantly, and also people getting charged multiple times in a month. Be careful guys.

I would not recommend UniHomes. Their payment system and the way billing issues are handled have caused me an unbelievable amount of stress as a student. I have repeatedly had issues with UniHomes taking payments. They have attempted to take payments twice, taken incorrect amounts, and charged me for supposedly having insufficient funds when my bank statement clearly shows that they had already taken my money. For example, my August payment was £99.90, and I made sure there were sufficient funds in my account specifically for this payment. Despite this, I was told the payment had failed and that I could be charged a £12 late fee. I provided evidence showing that the £99.90 had actually left my account, yet I was still having to chase them to get the payment correctly allocated. This isn’t even the first time. On a previous occasion, UniHomes took around £200 when only approximately £99 was due, resulting in a duplicate/incorrect payment that they later had to refund. I have also previously had a Direct Debit fail despite having sufficient funds, meaning I had to make a manual payment. What makes this even more frustrating is that their Direct Debit payments don’t appear to be taken on a consistent or clearly scheduled date. Payments have been attempted on different dates, which makes it extremely difficult as a student to know exactly when money needs to be available in my account. When you’re budgeting around student finance, you need to know when a payment is actually going to be taken. The customer service has also been extremely frustrating. They don’t seem to properly answer the questions being asked. Instead, I have repeatedly been given generic responses about insufficient funds, told to contact my bank, or warned about further charges, even when I have provided clear evidence that money has already been taken from my account. At this point, the whole payment system feels seriously unreliable and, from my experience, completely lacking transparency. I shouldn’t have to constantly monitor my bank account, chase UniHomes, provide screenshots and prove that they’ve taken my money correctly. It feels like I’m constantly being chased for more money, even when payments have already been made. As a student, this is incredibly stressful and unacceptable. I have completely lost confidence in their Direct Debit system. If you are a student using UniHomes, I would strongly recommend keeping a very close eye on your bank account and keeping evidence of every payment you make. UniHomes seriously needs to review its payment collection system and customer service. Students should not have to worry about being charged twice, being incorrectly accused of not having funds, unexpected payment attempts, or being threatened with late fees when the money has already been taken.
