My experience has been pretty bad and I'm writing this as a strong suggestion to think twice before considering moving here. I moved in as part of 4 roommate house. It was fine with my first room mate but it became a NIGHTMARE with the second one. Despite provided documentation about how the door was intentionally left open over 10 times by this person, left out food for days sometimes even weeks, leaving the stove on overnight, leaving the fridge open and spoiling all the food inside and overloading the dryer on top of a horrific attitude, the Lodge did nothing impactful to make this person accountable for their actions. I do appreciate they offered another apartment, but it does not amend the lack of accountability when it comes to roommates who not only break community rules but suck in general. Despite issuing a violation notice, there is no real accountability if you're stuck with someone who is terrible. I am not exaggerating when I say it is not worth the amount of mental degradation I have experienced. Please consider other options like I wish I had. On top of these issues, there have been random changes to pay requirements and insurance requirements. $865 is what it started as and now I pay almost 1k a month without choice for a 4 room mate lease. I've spent over 200 dollars in 6 months keeping up with the insurance changes because I need to pay for pet insurance for a pet I don't have. If you're living with a room mate you know in a 2 bedroom, you'll maybe be okay? But otherwise...don't come here...

The Lodge appears nice, but several policies are misleading and designed to squeeze extra money out of residents. Pricing is listed per installment, not per month, and this is not clearly communicated. You effectively pay for 12 installments over an 11-month stay due to the gap between lease terms. If you try to extend your stay, you’re hit with high fees or pro-rated rent. A “$959 monthly” rate is actually closer to $1,046/month—about $87 higher than it appears. Even staff seemed unclear about this when asked. Utilities are handled poorly. In a 4x4, we had two tenants move out early, but utilities for the entire apartment (including locked, unused rooms) were split between just us 2 that occupied rooms. Our bills jumped from under $10 to around $70/month. Management refused to adjust anything, effectively pushing vacancy costs onto the remaining residents. Other issues: - An opt-out credit-building service ($8.95/month) that’s included unless you manually email to decline - A yearly ~$60 admin fee for utilities that isn’t tied to usage - Amenities don’t fully deliver (e.g., pool closed for 3–4 weeks during peak summer) The property looks good on the surface, but the fine print and policies feel intentionally structured to extract extra money. I have proof to back up all of these claims :) Proceed carefully and read everything closely before signing!

I have lived at the Lodge for almost two years and already signed a lease for a third. The staff is very friendly and they do lots of give aways & activities. I love all the events & competitions they put on for residents. Parking is great and the neighborhood is very peaceful. I live in a 4 bedroom unit; I was very pleased moving into a super clean bedroom with nice furnishings and my own bathroom. The view from my room is beautiful in the summer. The clubhouse is very nice, with lots of study space, free printing, free coffee/tea, and their mail system is cool. I see people walking their dogs all the time, but I never hear them bark even though I'm so close to the mini dog park. The fitness center is pretty nice and the pool & hot tub are amazing. The cost is high, but 12 months here is still much less expensive than 9 months in RIT's single bedroom apartments. The drive to campus is less than 5 minutes, so it's very convenient if you have a car. I always recommend the Lodge to RIT students, it is perfect for me! I am so glad I chose it over campus housing.

Lived here for a year. The staff is super friendly and easy-going. Rent could be cheaper and shuttle can be improved. Everytime the shuttle had issues the property manager emailed uber codes.

I absolutely loved my time at The Lodge. I spent two wonderful years here, and leaving was a tough decision—only necessitated by my work commute. This place is truly a gem. The staff is incredibly warm, friendly, and genuinely care about their residents. They go above and beyond to make things as convenient and stress-free as possible. I wish more apartment complexes and landlords were as considerate as The Lodge. If you're debating where to live in Rochester, look no further. It's safe, beautiful, and perfectly convenient. You can trust this place wholeheartedly—move in and enjoy your stay!
