The Pointe has its highs and lows. On one hand, the rent is lower than other places and the amenities are decent. On the other hand, they do not take care of the units and things are constantly breaking. When I moved in the dryer wasn’t installed, we submitted multiple maintenance requests and 2 years later they still haven’t come by, good thing we did it ourselves. My toilet was full of mold and when I submitted a request for a new toilet (see pictures), all they did was spray it with a mold remover. I spent months fighting the mold before I finally got rid of most of it. I was buying gallons of mold remover for something I was not responsible for and the property refused to fix. There was also mold growing on the ground outside our door, again, the property did nothing about it. I was sick, presumably from the mold, for the first 6 months I lived here until I got rid of most of the mold. I bought Petri dishes to be analyzed and spent hundreds on hospital visits. Every time I left the property for more than a few days I felt better, but the moment I returned I was sick again. The stairs are also constantly breaking leading to upstairs units, they repaired or replaced sections for some buildings but some stairs still shake, move, or collapsed anyway. See previous reviews for more about this. Our A/C broke in the spring, we notified the property as soon as we realized it wasn’t working, and it took over 9 weeks for them to come fix it. It took a month before they gave us a portable A/C unit after multiple complaints, emails, and office visits. The bedrooms consistently hit 85 degrees, and upon requesting more portable units, we were told we would have them within 2 days, but we never received any. My roommates and I took turns sleeping on the couch to stay cool. We finally got A/C back 3 days before I move out. If nothing goes wrong then it’s a fine place to live, but the moment there’s any major repairs that need done, expect to be left waiting for months or to just do it yourself. They’re also now raising the rent and adding more fees while offering less amenities. The computers in the study room, gone, the dry sauna, removed, yoga room, repurposed, hot tub, filled in, table tennis, now have to play outside in January. All the supposed “upgrades” are downgrades and make this place less worth it. There are definitely worse places to live, but you have to hope and pray nothing goes wrong for this place to be worth the money. Update to this review: AC was fixed on 7/23, and broke again 7/26. Bedroom A’s bathroom was flooded and as far as I know it had yet to be fixed again.

I lived at The Pointe for two years and have a relatively negative opinion on it. Rent was relatively cheap compared to where my friends stayed and that was nice considering the kitchen being ok and each roommate having separate rooms and bathrooms. However, there were a bunch of problems not only in the apartment but also with the property in general. For the apartment, the windows are well out-of-date, and mine and my roommates leaked. In fact, most of the things that came with the apartment are out-of-date, such as the beds and washing machine. My bathroom ceiling leaked on multiple occasions and two of my roommates carpets were ripped off the floor before we even moved in. The sauna advertised when we agreed to rent the first time simply never existed, and the pool is open basically never. The basketball court was consistently dusty, making it very dangerous to play on. Several potholes outside our building were never fixed, despite them appearing relatively early in our two-year stay and several maintenance requests. Speaking of maintenance, most of the time they never fixed anything and simply said things were just old. The towing of cars is ridiculous, my roommate got his car towed despite obviously living here but also having his car registered. There isn't enough visitor parking, yet there being too many spots (albeit, small) for residents. Lastly, the WiFi was horrendous, though they are fixing that, of course after we are leaving. Overall, this is a fine place to stay if you are trying to save money and not live downtown, however there is a LOT to be improved on.

I went inside for a tour 10 minutes early and was immediately helped by a very friendly lady named Reilly! She was incredibly helpful and answered every question with professionalism. We came back 30 minutes before closing and signed the lease. She stayed 10-15 minutes past closing just to help us and we really appreciated her time and effort. Thanks Reilly!

I would not recommend living at The Pointe State College to anyone. The biggest issue is the management and staff, who have been incredibly difficult to deal with regarding almost any problem. Maintenance requests are frustratingly slow, and issues that should be simple often take way too long to get resolved — if they get resolved properly at all. Communication is poor, and getting a clear answer or actual help feels nearly impossible. On top of that, the staff often come across as disorganized and unhelpful, which makes dealing with any issue far more stressful than it needs to be. The move-out process was especially frustrating, with questionable charges that felt excessive and poorly explained. Overall, for the price and expectations of student housing, the experience was disappointing and unnecessarily stressful. I’d strongly suggest looking at other housing options before signing here.

At move-in day shocked to find a severe roof leak in the bathroom, causing high moisture and making the apartment uninhabitable. What’s even worse, The Pointe charges the tenant for the massive electricity needed to dry the premise from self-inflicted damage. The conditions are unsafe, with potential for mold growth. CRCA should inspect this property asap.
