2/5 stars. I can't recommend this complex, especially considering the price. (over 1k a month) Since moving in, we've dealt with constant maintenance and management issues. For two-three month alone, our water has been shut off at least once a week, often for most or all of the day. Our apartment was not properly cleaned before move-in, and we've had a persistent odor coming from the sink that was never resolved despite living here for the duration of our lease. Our apartment was given the “landlord special” on our cabinets and sliding glass doors. Paint streaks everywhere, and a broken lock that was fixed 2x until we gave up fixing it for the 3rd time. Not to mention a light switch in our room… but no light. We also had a HUGE ant problem when transferring units despite us taking extra lengths to keep our space clean. One of the biggest frustrations was mail access. It took approximately six months to receive our mailbox key, which meant driving to the post office to retrieve mail during that time. When we finally received a key, it didn't even work. The property also lacks trash pickup, which would be fine if the residents weren’t acting like it’s offered. it's common to see trash bags sitting outside residents' doors for extended periods. We didn’t have an in unit washer or dryer so we had to use the laundry rooms that were… a complete mess 9/10 times we’d go use them. I’m talking ramen packets spilled everywhere, trash all over the floor and usually 2 faulty machines out of the 4. For the amount residents pay, basic cleanliness and convenience should be better. Before transferring into our current unit, my boyfriend was assigned a roommate through the complex who created a very unsafe living environment including sexual harassment and violence towards my boyfriend. They were made aware of this. That experience ultimately contributed to our decision to transfer into our own unit. To make matters worse, management was unwilling to work with us on ending our lease even one month early despite our move-out plans, requiring us to continue paying through the lease term. My boyfriend was no longer a student, he graduated, got a new job outside of the city and they still refused to budge. What makes all of this harder to justify is the cost. We are moving into a significantly larger and nicer apartment with better amenities, including trash service, and a gym for essentially the same price. The occasional free food events and student-focused perks do not make up for the ongoing maintenance issues, lack of responsiveness, and overall value. There are certainly worse places to live, but there are also much better options at this price point for STUDENTS.

Westfield Apartments has been an amazing place to live. The front office staff is outstanding — they respond quickly, are incredibly friendly ans helpful, and always make you feel taken care of. Their maintenance team is just as impressive. They stay on top of every request and are always on standby whenever something is needed. Great job to everyone at Westfield for creating such a professional, welcoming, and well-managed community!

I' really love this place! This experience hasn't been like other student housing here in San Marcos. I really can't stop raving about Westfield to anyone looking for an affordable 1bd apartment. The office and maintenance staff is really amazing. They don't seem to have a huge turnover rate like other complexes I've lived in, so you see familiar faces whenever you have to stop and/or have someone come out to take care of something in your unit. They get to work orders promptly and always let you know ahead of time if they need to enter your unit. I love that the renovations they've done to the units while I've been here -- new appliances, cabinets, fixtures, and blinds really make it feel like a whole new place. UPDATE- Apt complex is nice, but unless you plan on renewing your lease 6-8months in advance you will be bombarded with calls/texts to renew and told that your only option would be a transfer renewal when you call to let them know heater won’t turn off in unit.

I’ve lived here for 11 months and I’m so happy with everything the complex has to offer. The apartments are super comfortable, you get beautiful natural light through its many windows. Even the smallest apartments have a huge balcony and walk in closet. The complex is so pretty, it has so many green spaces and areas for you to walk your dog and enjoy the sun. The best part though is the office staff, they are AMAZING, they know almost everyone by name, are super friendly and are you always trying to organize activities for the residents. As this town is mainly full of college kids that are alone and friendless, I think this is such an incredible way to help them connect with other residents. Whenever we had a problem they made sure it was fixed on the same day. I’ve heard so many horrible things from other apartments in the area that I’m so glad I chose this place as my home. I’m sure it’s clear already but I completely recommend it!

I have lived here for 9+ months and have had a wonderful experience. The complex is older but don't let that fool you. The staff/management are super friendly and easy to connect with. The maintenance crew is record fast with response times and have easily fixed whatever minor issues I've had. There is fun community and good benefits: activities and connection of some kind on a regular basis (i.e. Pizza days, pottery painting, scary movie night, holiday celebrations, etc), nice little pool with outdoor grills/furniture, courtesy officer, good wifi/internet, etc. Nice to be someplace where the staff obviously cares and is working hard to make the place even better. Thanks Westfield: 10/10 recommend!
