The Thompson, san-marcos-tx

Since the new management arrived, my roommates and I have dealt with numerous issues. Student Quarters rapidly introduced multiple renovations, which began with replacing all appliances in the kitchen. They removed everything from our refrigerator, let it thaw in our living rooms for over two hours, and gave us an attitude when we asked for any solution to the loss of our food. A few months later, they had a week-long renovation of our kitchen and bathrooms, allowing contractors inside our apartments before and after office hours, leaving the front door unlocked, even after asking them to lock it, using our electricity (left EVERY single light on, day and night), and then leaving our kitchen an absolute disaster (leaving trash and construction materials, and blocking our fridge and pantries from being accessed, seen in photo). Ended off this semester with a utility bill 5X higher than normal, which led me to find out we were being overcharged on all the utilities from Feb-July (was finally refunded after being ghosted by the manager and Student Quarters for the first month of contact). Fortunately, the first two years living here, under CLS, were great! I would be wary of this new management and look elsewhere.

When I first toured the place last year and I signed the lease, they looked really nice. Over the past four months my roommate has been smoking weed and hotbox in the entire apartment for me. I work with kids and I have to wake up constantly with my clothes and I smell like weed, which is not a good look. Secondly, my roommate is not the cleanest person and leaves the trash bags all over the floor when I’ve tried reaching out to management multiple times I’ve been put through a different loop poles of who to contact. I do not recommend signing a lease here until there is new management such a shame for a nice part of town.

The Thompson is honestly such a nice apartment complex! It seems like it’s ten times better than most apartment complexes in San Marcos. They have a lot of good events for residents that give us some nice goodies! Really convenient to have the bus be like a minute walk away so easy campus access. Also I love their maintenance staff here, super kind and respond within a day! I would recommend!!

The Thompson is amazing! I definitely recommend living here! The units come fully furnished and are super spacious! The management is great and everyone is always super friendly and willing to help! The maintenance is also great and will come super quick if you need anything fixed. The location is amazing as well, very close to campus and right by the bus stop! If you're looking for an apartment to live near campus I absolutely recommend The Thompson!

So impressed with this complex. Kaylie @ the front office is an asset to this company. We had a very bad experience with move in at a different complex and needed a new place last minute. She and the leasing manager expedited my daughters move in with a great deal of professional and confidence. The flat is beautiful, clean, and pleasantly roomy. The pool area looks resort quality, sparkling water and inviting cabanas! Gym/and other amenities are icing on the cake. Thank you Thompson team!
