Beautiful living space at UNO overlooking Lake Ponchatrain. The campus connected to its space. My daughter has lived here for four years and without incident. Thank Pri steer Place for keep such good care of my daughter.-Cathy Pope-Carr.

⭐☆☆☆☆ 1 Star I am extremely disappointed with the management and living conditions at Privateer Place in New Orleans. Throughout a weekend of record-high temperatures, the air conditioning in my adult child’s unit has been broken, creating an uncomfortable and potentially unsafe environment. Despite multiple attempts to get assistance, there has been no meaningful response from Marvin Price or Denise Taylor regarding this emergency situation. To make matters worse, the security gate malfunctioned and effectively locked residents in. When assistance was needed, Robert was unavailable and reportedly asleep, forcing me to pay for an Uber due to the lack of access and support. There have also been ongoing security concerns, including a stolen mop bucket, which raises questions about property security and management oversight. Additionally, it appears that staff members Maya and Hillary have been instructed to ignore emergency maintenance requests, leaving residents without help when urgent issues arise. As a parent, I am deeply concerned about my child’s well-being and safety. The lack of communication, poor maintenance response, and inadequate support from management have left me with no choice but to make arrangements to move my adult child out as soon as possible. I would not recommend Privateer Place to anyone seeking responsive management, reliable maintenance, or a safe living environment. DO NOT IGNORE ANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS, as I’m writing this as I sweat and pack my child apartment in 82 degrees Fahrenheit!

No operating toilet on move in day is totally unacceptable. We put in a maintenance request and was told it may not be resolved today due to numerous maintenance request orders. This is totally unacceptable as an operating toilet is a necessity! They knew when the students were moving in and to not have everything in order before move in day is absurd. I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t want to stay in a place without an operating toilet. The sense of urgency doesn’t appear to be present nor concern for the students issues. Update: Thankfully the issue was addressed within a reasonable time frame and my daughter and her roommate did not have to go without a working toilet upon moving in.

This place is trash...pest control issues..roaches, mold, unsafe living conditions, toilet not working. This place needs to be condemned. No help what so ever after a putting in a request after request...and before y'all reply to call the office. I'VE BEEN CALLING FOR 2 YEARS. SO at this point after looking over the lease. I am going to have to get my lawyers involved because this is UNACCEPTABLE. The rent has NEVER been late the whole 2 yes I've been there and its always an issue getting assistance. Pay the extra money to live someone else but DO NOT live here at Privateer Place. DO NOT IGNORE THESE REVIEWS! if I didn't have a new phone I would post 2 YEARS of pictures for you to see the type of place this is. If I could back 2 YEARS ago...I WOULD NOT BE HERE! Any good reviews on here they are probably writing it themselves cause there's is nothing good about Privateer Place. THEY GET A NEGATIVE 1000 stars from me. They don't even deserve zero stars...they not even worth zero.

As a student, you’re better off commuting, living in the dorms, or finding another apartment. I might recommend living at Privateer if they completely replaced the current management, but as it stands, my experience was genuinely awful. I have documented email receipts of the management being rude, unprofessional, and at times, harassing. Despite providing valid documentation for my emotional support animal, they attempted to charge me pet fees.. completely ignoring the federal Fair Housing Act, which protects tenants in Louisiana from such charges. This issue led to months of unnecessary stress and harassment throughout the semester, and even after I moved out, the mistreatment continued. Living there made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, which no student should have to experience. I know others who’ve dealt with similar problems, and after staying quiet for too long, I felt it was important to speak up. Hopefully, this helps someone make a more informed decision.
