Absolutely horrible! My family member lives there, I visit often. This is mainly apartments that college students live in. The top floor roof in their building caved in before winter causing major issues and leaks to almost the bottom apartment. The steps going up to apartments need replaced. They are harassed and treated horrible by neighbors that are older (not college students). I have witnessed it myself while visiting, having spoke with one family member myself. Not bad enough to involve law enforcement at this point. Example: I got out of bed one morning and they began banging on the floor. The leasing office however has not and will not address the issue for whatever reasons. I highly recommend not leasing here. But here in Morgantown is seems to be an issue in general with maintenance, upkeep and safety of housing.

DO NOT GET A LEASE HERE. I'm utterly disgusted with how this management runs their complex. Upon early move-in, the apartment is trashed. PLEASE view the images attached. I have videos as well but they can't be added as google doesn't support them (how convenient). The flooring in the kitchen area has rips. The carpet is littered with stains and additionally has rips in the doorways. The back of the chair is destroyed by what we assume was a cat. The apartment is a mess. There are food stains on the walls. There's exposed electrical wiring near the washer and dryer. The hardware in the one bathroom, at least, is completely dismembered and detached. There's water damage beneath the sink. There's food in the freezer and fridge, containing raw chicken that went bad and milk that expired in April. This was somehow a group of 3 girls that left the apartment in this condition. The stove doesn't work. The garbage disposal doesn't work. The apartment complex state we aren't allowed to file work orders until the official lease start of August 17th. They additionally said any damages won't be addressed until mid September at the earliest. These people are in deep violation of our lease and WV state laws as the apartment we are paying for does not meet the requirements. Our amenities are broken and damaged, and there are numerous safety/fire/electrical violations/hazards. They better lawyer up, they don't know what's coming.

The move in process went great. The staff is nice. The only issue I had was the condition of the room and not having furniture in my furnished apartment. The apartment was extremely dirty. The carpet was torn up in spots and covered in stains. The kitchen was filthy. The worst spot was the refrigerator. The refrigerator doesnt work. Both the fridge and the freezer had mold growing in it. I had to clean out the entire refrigerator with bleach. The bathrooms were also very dirty. One bathroom had dust and black specs covering the shower. The other bathroom had a very dirty floor. One bedroom had multiple holes in the walls. The property manager got the furniture for the apartment very quickly but we are still waiting for repairs to be done to the walls and to have the carpet cleaned. I'm just gonna add a little bit to this. It's been quite awhile since I added this post and they still have not fixed any of the damages that the property manager said he would get fixed. If you are looking for an apartment I would not recommend Mountain Vallet. Thought I would add a few of the 61 pictures I got of my empty furnished apartment on move in.

Since moving in I have been disappointed by this apartment complex. The staff in the office is nice, but the issues are very systemic with the company itself. Moving in my apartment was damaged. There were holes in the floor covered by duct tape. Items from previous Tennant were still inside including in the washer. The pantry shelf was broken. And my refrigerator was missing an entire shelf so I didn’t have much space to sit groceries inside. It took roughly 3 months to get these resolved, but I was told they cannot do anything about the floors. I have heard from many other tennants that this also happened to them and that they were charged for the damage when they moved out. Next, there is very inconsistent trash removal. Currently we are drowning in trash (as of 1/14/22) there’s another comment from Mt valley saying this has been resolved but the issue is ongoing and has been all year. Snow removal is also an issue within the complex as the state does NOT plow our roads. I saw about 4-5 cars piled up at the bottom of the hill. Extremely dangerous!! The hill becomes complete ice and cars just slide into things. The amenities are also horrible. The pool failed their health inspection and didn’t open until September and then closed a few weeks later. Who wants to swim in mid sepetember?? The hot tub never opened. The gym has broken equipment that they haven’t replaced. There are only three treadmills total, but only one actually works properly. There are also signs up on the tanning beds that day closed by order of the health department. They have been there for months. I was planning to resign my lease, but am looking for somewhere else to live now because this year has just been too much of a disappointment. The rent is way too expensive for this kind of horrible quality.

I’ve lived here since 2019 and have no complaints! Spencer, Brandon & Grace have been more than helpful with anything I’ve needed (and I’m needy lol). There have definitely been some hiccups with the transition of management but they’ve adapted well, and I’m excited to see the changes coming up! Maintenance truly goes above and beyond to fix anything you need (especially emergency orders). I’ve had my bathroom ceiling flood due to the apartment above me and they have been there in less than 5 minutes (at 3am) and had it fully fixed within 48 hours. The amenities are always clean (pool, gym, tanning beds, club house) and they are always active within their housing community! I’ve really loved living here as a student and now a professional. Between pizza parties and doggy pool days, this apartment is hard to beat. My little sister just started college at WVU and has already called dibs on moving into my apartment with me after her freshman year (she would’ve lived with me her freshman year but they’re supposed to live in the dorm first). She is constantly at my apartment with her friends between classes and says she can’t wait for next year. Side note: as someone who has to be at work at 5am evening during winter, the hill may be an issue sometimes when we get a lot of snow or when it’s icy out BUT overall, the past 2 years I think I missed/went in late less than 5 days total due to weather conditions. I do have an AWD car though.
