Getting to English National Ballet School:
By Tube (London Underground): The closest Tube station is South Kensington (Piccadilly, Circle, and District lines). ENBS is approximately a 10-15 minute walk from South Kensington station. Exit the station following signs for the Museums or Brompton Road, then head towards Jay Mews.
By Bus: Numerous bus routes serve the South Kensington and Brompton Road area. Check the Transport for London (TfL) website or a journey planner app (like Citymapper or Google Maps) for the most convenient routes from your accommodation or other parts of London. Look for buses along Brompton Road, Fulham Road, and Draycott Avenue.
By Train (National Rail):
- Victoria Station: Approximately a 20-25 minute walk or a short Tube ride (Victoria Line to Sloane Square, then a walk). Victoria is a major National Rail terminus.
- Sloane Square Station: While primarily a Tube station (Circle and District lines), it has some limited National Rail services. A 15-20 minute walk to ENBS.
By Walking and Cycling: Depending on where you live in central or south-west London, walking and cycling to the school might be feasible. Chelsea is a relatively affluent and central area.
Student Travel Within London:
- Oyster Card or Contactless Payment: The most convenient way to pay for public transport in London (Tube, buses, trams, DLR, and most National Rail services).
- Travel Zones: Chelsea is located within Zone 1. Ensure your Oyster card or ticket covers this zone.
- Bus Hopper Fare: Allows unlimited bus and tram journeys within one hour of your first tap-in.
- Daily and Weekly Capping: Oyster and contactless payments have daily and weekly caps, limiting how much you spend.
Student Discounts on Travel:
- 18+ Student Oyster Photocard: If you are 18 or over, enrolled on a full-time course in London, and meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for an 18+ Student Oyster photocard. This gives you 30% off adult-rate Travelcards and Bus & Tram Pass season tickets. Check the TfL website for details and application.
- National Rail Discounts: If you use National Rail services frequently for travel within or outside London, a 16-25 Railcard can save you 1/3 on most fares.
