This was one of the worst experiences of my life. I moved into this student accommodation in September 2023, having just arrived in the UK and knowing no one. A few weeks later, in early October, as the weather became colder and wetter, which is typical of the Geordie climate, I realised that my room was not insulated at all and that it was literally raining inside my room. I reported this immediately to the staff. Despite numerous emails, repeated visits to reception, and photographic evidence clearly showing the damage and the risk to my safety and belongings, the issue was not taken seriously. For over two weeks, nothing was done beyond a couple of towels being placed on the windowsill by maintenance. During that time, my mental wellbeing and sleep were badly affected, as I could hear raindrops falling inside my room and felt completely powerless. It was only after this period that I was offered another room, initially on a temporary basis, before being moved permanently. No compensation was ever offered. In February 2024, further serious water damage appeared in the kitchen. The floor was soaked and the ceiling was covered in mould. This was made worse by the fact that the extraction fans in the flat were already not working when I moved in. Once I noticed this, I reported it several times by email, but they were never fixed, despite assurances that they would be. The bathroom ceiling was also cracked and the building was overall in very poor condition. In addition, the shower circuit breaker regularly tripped while I was showering, meaning I had to go down to reception covered in soap so that staff could reset it, sometimes late at night. This happened more than once. Some of my post went missing despite proof of delivery to the reception. When I requested a summer extension, which I had no alternative to as I have no family in the UK, I was required to move flats. On the day of the move, after packing all my belongings, I discovered that the new flat had not been cleaned and was not ready. Reception told me to return to my old room. It took several more days, possibly a full week, before I was finally able to move. In May 2024, I noticed unusual marks on my back, likely caused by the mould present in the accommodation. These marks have since disappeared, but the situation was extremely distressing. The staff were generally unfriendly and dismissive. The only positive aspect was a small number of international staff members who showed genuine understanding. This is the sole reason this accommodation has received one star. Overall, this experience was emotionally exhausting and deeply unsettling. It has taken me nearly two years to recover from it. It is now January 2026, and only recently have I started to feel better. I would strongly advise prospective students to think very carefully before choosing this accommodation.

The room was dirty, the walls marked. You would have thought for the price they would have had a spruce up over summer whilst empty. There isn't enough space in the fridge for 4 students! The bathroom is tired the shower wasn't the cleanest. There are only 3 washing machines working for the entire block. The Lift is constantly broken. I'd say the only advantage is it's proximity to the Uni and City centre.

Our child is staying here and it is not of a great standard by any stretch of the imagination. Yes, we knew the rooms were small and that’s ok, but the place is below par for the price point. The room wasn’t clean when he moved in. The carpet is stained and disgusting. Dust everywhere on the surfaces. The plumbing makes a horrible noise. It’s really not fit for purpose. Should have been fixed in between the last intake and the new. The shared kitchen area is ok. Enough for three perhaps but inadequate for more than that. Edit 1 : Hi Nick. I tried calling, but no one answered. After several attempts, I gave up and sent an email. Three days later and I still don't have a response. Granted, it's the weekend so I hope to get a response in the coming week.

For a student accommodation its not bad but theres so much room for improvement. First off they only give one letterbox key per flat. The rooms are nice and spacious but gravely lacking any utility. A coat hanger rack and a bigger towel rail can be easily implemented with all this space but its just not utilised. The bathroom is super tiny, sacrificed for more room space. Its an older style bathroom that has a door that opens inwards which makes the bathroom feel even smaller than it already is. Also the TV doesnt work Also there is definitely not enough fridge space for a 4 person flat The one upside is the big desk space. The desk is super spacious with 2 sockets on each side, with tons of leg room (gained from not having any storage space)

Good and comfortable place for students to live in which is located very near to Northumbria University and 10 mins away from Newcastle Uni. It is located at the centre of the 4 metro stations 10 mins walk for Haymarket metro, 7 mins for Jesmond metro , 5 mins for manors metro and 10 mins for Grey's monument metro. MORE SPACIOUS room compared with other accommodations. But only drawback is no elevator. Only few blocks have elevator.

Common questions
There are TVs in many of the communal areas, and some bedrooms include TVs too - you can check what's available at your property on your property page or in your welcome guide. You'll be sent a link to your welcome guide before you arrive. You will need a TV licence for your bedroom if you‚are watching TV live or on-demand, and if you have a TV licence for your bedroom this automatically covers the communal kitchen too. If you just want to watch TV in the communal kitchen, then you and your flatmates can arrange a single TV licence together. Students living in a studio will also need to arrange their own TV licence if you plan to watch TV live or on-demand.
