As a parent, I felt it was important to share our family’s experience with the Disney College Program and the housing at Flamingo Crossings, because what my child went through was deeply concerning—especially in terms of their mental health and overall well-being. When my child was accepted into the program, we were all incredibly excited. We believed this would be a safe, supportive environment where they could grow, gain experience, and take an important step forward. Unfortunately, what they experienced was far from what was promised. The living conditions at Flamingo Crossings were unacceptable. My child reported ongoing cleanliness issues, including mold in the washer and dryer units, which raises serious health concerns. These issues were reported multiple times, yet nothing seemed to be done. On top of that, shared living spaces were often left in unsanitary conditions, with roommates leaving moldy food in the refrigerator and not maintaining basic cleanliness. The roommate situation became a constant source of stress. My child followed all the proper procedures to report conflicts, hoping for intervention or resolution, but little to no action was taken. As a parent, it was incredibly difficult to watch them feel stuck in an environment that was both emotionally and physically draining. What troubled me the most was the impact this experience had on their mental health. Over time, I saw a noticeable decline—they became overwhelmed, anxious, and exhausted. This was supposed to be a positive and enriching opportunity, yet it turned into something that negatively affected their well-being. Additionally, hearing that they were treated unprofessionally at work, including being yelled at in front of guests, was extremely upsetting. No young adult should feel disrespected or unsupported in what is meant to be a learning environment. It also makes me question the broader impact this kind of environment has. If participants are dealing with poor living conditions, constant stress, and lack of support behind the scenes, it’s not surprising that customer service at Disney World can suffer. People cannot consistently provide positive guest experiences if they themselves are overwhelmed and unsupported. We trusted that this program would provide not only career opportunities but also a safe and respectful place to live and work. Instead, it felt like serious concerns were ignored, and support was lacking when it was needed most. I strongly urge that these issues be taken seriously. No family should have to worry about their child’s health—physical or mental—while they are trying to pursue an opportunity like this.

I would not recommend living at Flamingo Crossings Village if you have any other option. My biggest issue is that Disney property of mine was mishandled and ended up being given to someone else. Despite this mistake, I received little to no meaningful assistance in locating my property or replacing what was lost. The lack of accountability and customer service was incredibly frustrating. Parking is also outrageously expensive—it costs about what many people pay for an entire week of rent just to park your car. The management and front desk staff often seem disconnected from their own online policies. I was told one thing online, only to be told something completely different in person, and I felt like I was the one being penalized for their inconsistent communication. The housing itself is disappointing. The four-bedroom, two-bathroom layout forces you to share a very small bedroom, which feels unreasonable considering the cost. If you end up with a bad roommate situation, don’t expect a quick resolution. Even when there are legitimate concerns, room transfers appear to be a very low priority. I was also disappointed by the roommate assignment process. It can result in living arrangements that make residents uncomfortable, and I believe there should be stronger consideration of resident safety and privacy when making assignments. On top of all that, many of the amenities and conveniences are overpriced for what you’re already paying. Overall, this has been one of the most frustrating housing experiences I’ve had. Between poor customer service, expensive fees, cramped living conditions, and a lack of accountability, I cannot recommend Flamingo Crossings Village. If you have another housing option, I would strongly encourage you to consider it instead.

i would say i did not have my best experience living here and doing the disney college program . I had a difficult experience with the housing and pay structure during my time in the program. Rent was automatically deducted from my paycheck, and at times the amount taken made it very difficult to manage my remaining income and to be stable here . When deductions changed or increased, we were expected to cover the remaining balance out of pocket, which was challenging given reduced or inconsistent hours from our role This made financial stability very difficult and added a lot of stress during my time in the program. While the experience itself had some positives, the housing and pay system did not feel manageable for my situation. i would not recommend staying here if you are doing the college program it’s really all just a scam

This has been by far my worst living experience. The staff is incompetent, unhelpful, and downright rude. It’s impossible to feel any sense of freedom or comfort here, even though I’m an adult paying an excessive amount of rent for what is offered. There is no public transportation to Orlando, making it extremely inconvenient if you don’t have your own car. On top of that, management is overly strict and unreasonable, issuing fines for minor or even nonexistent infractions. It feels like they are constantly trying to control every aspect of your life, rather than providing a safe and welcoming environment. For the price you pay, this place is completely unacceptable. I strongly advise anyone considering moving here to look elsewhere—there are far better and more professional options around Orlando. DONT COME HERE !!!!

Flamingo Crossings Village is a very interesting idea. Great on paper, absolutely abysmal in execution. While the west campus seems to be in great shape, that’s only because it’s still relatively new construction. Every facility, piece of equipment, even the grounds itself are woefully unkept. If a piece of gym equipment, the pool, or an elevator goes out of service, do not expect it to come back during your program. Be very wary ordering any packages as well. Letters will not come to you, and often times packages do not either. I had a in-person conversation with an employee, guaranteeing my package would arrive, and a mere hour later, same said employee told FedEx that they did not want to accept it. The lack of care and maintenance is surprising as well, considering they’re charging $4000 a month for a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment, where you’re forced to share a twin sized bed, with nothing but a partition separating you from the stranger they assigned you to live with. The social aspect is the only redeeming factor for FCV here, as I made some lifelong connections that I’ll never forget, however those connections have nothing to do with the complex itself and how it’s run, so that shouldn’t attribute to the tragic nature of this poorly run, and far too egregious complex.
