This place is a complete joke. Do not ever sign a lease here. The front office is kept up with and when you tour this place, they will not take you to the back entrance of the building or in any hallways because of how nasty they smell and look with constant dirt and sticky floors, Which to me seems like false advertisement. First, it is completely impossible to get out of a lease OR get out of a lease that hasn’t started yet, which seems odd to me. The amenities are unavailable or not maintained at all, that being the pool area, the courtyard, and even the elevators being shut down for over a week while they say it will be fixed, but have yet to see anyone working on them, which is frustrating considering they’re advertised as luxury living. The property is frequently dirty, and trash is left in hallways and even the dumpster constantly is overflowing outside and smelling so bad. The landscaping also isn’t maintained. There also doesn’t seem to be much security, which makes the community feel less safe, even though they “claim” to have security on grounds. Meaning things get stolen, not being able to walk outside at night without feeling unsafe & property doors not being locked at all times. Overall, the property isn’t well maintained, and the experience hasn’t been worth the cost. Management needs to do a much better job maintaining the community & also lacks communication skills with any of the residents living here. I would not recommend living here. Avoid if possible.

Management Turned a Housing Issue Into a Legal Nightmare. Before signing a lease, read reviews from people who have actually lived here—not just people who toured the property. My biggest issue was never the apartment itself. It was the office staff and management. When I moved in during August 2025, the original office staff handled a difficult move-in professionally and genuinely cared. Unfortunately, once management changed, everything changed too. From that point on, I dealt with deceptive communication, a lack of professionalism, what I believe was a breach of my privacy, and management decisions that ultimately left my parents and me dealing with legal concerns that should never have existed. This entire experience took a huge toll on my mental health while I was trying to finish an accelerated dental assisting program. Whenever I brought forward legitimate concerns, I felt like I became the problem instead of the actual situation. I documented everything through emails, meetings, phone calls, and evidence, yet I was constantly dismissed instead of supported. One of the biggest reasons I’m writing this review is because I completely lost trust in the office staff. While I was trying to transfer apartments, information about my personal housing situation was shared before I had the chance to discuss it myself. I also personally witnessed conversations about my situation taking place in the leasing office with other residents present. As a resident, I expected confidentiality and professionalism. Instead, I felt like my situation became office gossip. After months of trying to resolve living-situation issues in my first apartment, I transferred to a second apartment within Uncommon because management told me it was my best option. A few months later, I moved into an apartment 25 min. away for my own peace of mind. However, my lease at Uncommon was still active through July 31, 2026. I was intentionally paying rent at both places because I was still legally responsible for my Uncommon apartment, had never officially moved out, had never turned in my key, and still had belongings in my room. Despite all of that, another resident was moved into my bedroom without my knowledge. One specific person with a higher-up position in the office, shared with another resident that I had turned in my key. That was a complete lie. I still had the key and there was no documentation whatsoever that I had turned my key in. The only reason I found out that there was someone vacating my room, was because I contacted my roommate before stopping by. Had I not done that, I could have unknowingly walked into a bedroom occupied by someone else while still believing I had authorized access. Poor management by the office staff could’ve left me with a potential breach of privacy, as I still had the assumption that this was my room as you know, I’m still paying for it and still legally tied. I was never notified that my room had been reassigned, despite still paying rent and never completing Uncommon’s required move-out process. That situation should never happen to any resident. During one of our meetings, my father and I also noticed that the real estate firm’s licensing documentation displayed in the leasing office appeared to show a renewal that had expired the previous year. We did not see updated renewal documentation displayed. Whether updated documentation existed elsewhere, I can’t say, but it only added to our concerns about the office’s professionalism and attention to detail. I understand mistakes happen. What I don’t understand is how a management team can repeatedly dismiss resident concerns, fail to maintain confidentiality, mishandle a resident’s lease to the point of creating legal concerns, and never take accountability. This review isn’t about the apartment. It’s about the management. If you’re considering living here, document everything, save every email, and don’t assume management will protect your interests the way they should. I genuinely hope future residents are treated better than my family and I were.

Do not sign a lease here. The amenities are often unavailable or broken. The pool was unavailable for over two weeks. The elevators were out of service during move out. Trash is always on the ground and the hallways smell awful. More importantly, an employee who works in the front stole clothes from me and when I reported her to management, absolutely nothing was done. The customer service has been awful. There are no adults working here and they do not know how to help you. They do not care about their residents, they just care about getting money. Maintenance has walked into my room when I was showering as well. There is a lack of communication between management and residents. The experience here is not worth the cost.

Great front desk ladies. They are so wonderful and help uncommon run so smoothly. I have never had a bad experience with them. And I mean NEVER. If you ever need anyone up there, aka the front desk, ask for Katie or April. They are 10/10 behind the desk and in front. Uncommon you ROCK!

Uncommon Wilmington has been a great living environment. The amenities and the apartments are very nice. The leasing manager, Haley, is super friendly and very helpful! Overall, I have had a great experience here!!
