The management switch was the best thing that ever happened to this place. You can really tell they care about the residents and making this place a home instead of just student apartments. Everytime I come into the office Im greeted with warmth and they really make an effort to talk with me like theyve known me for a long time. I wish I wasnt going back home after graduating because I would stay just for the turnaround alone

Since I know I'll just get an unoriginal, automated response from the complex this is just for folks thinking of moving in. Move across the street instead to Harbor Station Townhomes. It's cheaper and they take better care of you, not renovated though. I have lived at the Quads, Campus Commons, The Pines, Harbor Station, and now the Nest. The Nest is by far the worst. It's technically the nicest place I've lived on paper but the conditions aren't good. Granite countertops aren't worth it when there's German cockroaches on them Every. Single. Day. I'll take an unrenovated kitchen if it means I'm not covered in mold and bugs. I lost a $200 banana republic dress, an air fryer, and a tv, to the entire apartment covered in mold and bugs chewing through circuitry in my electronics. I'm talking swarms of roaches, not just one here or there. Like 15-20 in the kitchen, more in the bathroom. Previous roommates got to move out because of the mold, I was only allowed to move to a different unit not break my lease like they got to. The office lady laughed in my face when I showed her the bug infestation I had. When I moved in here 2 years ago, there was community and people hanging out at the clubhouse all the time. There's definitely a bad energy here now. They need to hire people who actually want to help others, not laugh at their tenants when they're having a hard time.

While I appreciate the convenient location and affordability, you honestly get what you pay for here. I overall thought it was a pleasant experience until I encountered problem after problem. First, I found mold on my bedroom door and over the cabinets in the bathroom. I began to get seriously ill and presented the issue to the complex. I was gaslit by staff because they didn't take me seriously until I complained several times and they had a "professional" company inspect. In fact, it was mold and it was infested with it. Additionally, the apartment was infested with roaches, mainly in the kitchen under the refrigerator. Also, the mold team didn't get all of the mold the first time and when I told management about the mold still on the bathroom door, the literally came in and wiped it off, and PAINTED the door side. A few days later, I had a flea infestation. Truly, I didn't blame management because I knew they took over this complex recently and they had a lot to fix. Also, I appreciated my professional relationship with management until I felt like my disabilities and doctor's note didn't seem to matter to them or regional. They allowed me to cancel my lease due to the ongoing issues but after many attempts to ask them to immediately cancel the lease, the only resolution was to pay a full month's rent buyout option. They initially only offered a three month buyout even though my doctor's note said the apartment was literally unfit to live in and that I needed to move. This is truly the biggest let down and The Nest at 4955 needs to do better. If you like being gas lit and not taken seriously, as well as your maintenance issues not being resolved in an expeditiously manner, then please choose this place because disabled people deserve to be treated better than this. I do not recommend living at this complex and I don't appreciate the lack of seriousness from staff. My only hope is that others will take notice of this review and find somewhere truly better suited to their needs because this is not that place and it's not worth the price, especially in this economy. Thanks.

Internet worked perfectly fine until this past winter break where they decided to just completely change the system in the middle of the school year knowing that a vast majority of their residents are students. Can't get ethernet from the ports because they didn't think to schedule them to be installed before they switched systems. Overall wifi is terrible compared to before and has actively cut out and made me miss online class and is just a pain. Claim it's better and faster but it does not work nearly as well, assuming it was just cheaper and that's why they switched. Optimum sucks.

claim to be "pet friendly" but then tell you that you have to lock your animal in your tiny room or a crate while you're away. what about full time workers? pet friendly is not abusing animals by leaving them locked in a 11x10 room with 1 window for 9 hours everyday. check yourself and please correct this error.

Individual liability leasing is often referred to as “by the bed” leasing. This means that you are only responsible for your bed space, bathroom, and shared common areas. Only your name will appear on the lease agreement. If your roommate decides to skip, sublease or causes any damage, this will not become your responsibility.
