notice how the good reviews are years old or just people visiting the office and the bad reviews are recent and from people that live here? uncaring people that will spam your phone with pointless messages, unsafe during winter as they dont salt the stairs, they dont care about you. management changes all the time and seemingly only gets worse so have fun communicating with them. roommate had bedbugs for weeks and they did nothing. these are the stereotypical landlords.

I have never interacted with such a horrible company. From the day I moved in to several months after I moved out, my rights as a tenant and a customer were never respected. Over my time there I was threatened for asking for 24 hours notice before they entered the property, threatened with eviction because I contacted them about a roommate they told me about the day of (which they retracted) and had individuals entering my apartment with no notice regularly. Even after moving out it is extremely difficult to coordinate with them about the security deposit. Do not move into these apartments, and especially do not trust them with your young adults. They will not be safe here.

I hated the 17th. The management was awful. Upon moving in the dryer broke and it took weeks to fix. I had a required book in my mailbox with assignments and it took management at least a week to give me the right key after giving me the wrong one multiple times. By the time I did get my key the assignments were past due (I explained all of this to them). Our fridge stopped working one day which led to all of our groceries going bad. I went into the office to discuss a fee charged to my account and the lady who spoke to me wouldn’t even get off butt and come speak to me face to face like an adult. She spoke to me through her office. I felt like the management treated me as if they didn’t care at all, they were at times rude and disrespectful. I also witnessed them being disrespectful to a foreign girl trying to discuss her charges. The girl was calm and respectful while the management lady was disrespectful towards her. I also had a late mail fee appear even though I had checked the mail room the prior day and I had no packages so they must’ve had it in their office. I discussed the charges and they were not dropped. Each resident (there were four of us) were once charged $104 each for a water bill back when our water use could not have been that much, that’s $416 over our water usual water payment. That number does not include the water allowance we already pay.

Avoid at all costs. I lived there for 2 years, and it was truly a horrible experience. They change management every few months. Staff members entered my unit without notice, they deducted my full security deposit plus some whenever I moved out, even though I have pictures proving the damage they deducted me for was already there when I moved in. They tell residents they can’t smoke on the property but the leasing staff smoked in the cove next to my apartment, and the maintenance staff smoked marijuana in their cars on the property as well (you can see it and smell it). Not to mentioned I had a man come up to my door, ask me to marry him and told me he had been watching me in my doors and windows. When I went in person to tell the leasing staff they didn’t do anything about it, just shrugged it off and said that there was nothing they could do. They frequently double charge you, and then get angry if you don’t pay the second charge. I was without AC for 14 days, but by the 4/5 day of no AC I reported it to the maintenance team and it took them 10 days to fix the issue. Additionally I had to spend the first several weeks I lived there mitigating the marijuana odors from my apartment. Not even 4 months into my lease my refrigerator went out, I lost probably $300 worth of food. Then I paid for about $60 or more worth of parking fee that I couldn’t use because other people (including the maintenance team) were parked in my spot that I paid for. I never tested the unit, but it smelled heavily of black mold while I was there (starting from the move in) and the paint bubbled on the walls, plus there was a rather large hole in the corner of one of my rooms that had large bugs frequently coming in through, I’m surprised a mouse or other rodent never got in. The pool area was never clean as well. In my first year of living there (when I was 19 yo) they tried to move a 32 yo and a 45 yo into the same unit as me. They tried to say “oh they’re students too!” But when we talked to to them neither one were students Anytime I brought any concerns up with staff members (except once with Lisa I believe is her name), the staff was condescending and had horrible customer service.

Seventeenth is a great place to live! The complex looks very appealing and each room has great utilities. It has a nice common area, great living space, and the people who work there are very nice and very understanding. If you need help, they are always very positive and willing to help out with any issue. I would definitely recommend this to a college student who wants to live near campus! 10/10!
