My roommate and I were in Crestview II, which is a very different experience than Crestview North. We had our own W/D and never needed to call maintenance the entire time we stayed. The thermostat is a modern touchscreen. They always shoveled and cleaned shared entryways super promptly. The bathroom was cleaner than Alight’s (which is a newer building). Barely had to deal with the office people but they were really nice. We got most of our security deposit back except for some cleaning fees. We also were able to rent furniture for $50 a month which was great in our case because we were out of state. The building is probably 10 minutes to the Union walking. So for a walkable 2 bedroom with a W/D in unit, I thought rent was very reasonable. I just wrote this review because i remember being scared to lease and move in based off of reviews but we had no issues

I lived there for about eight years. Used to be satisfying, but now it's okay. Pros: 1. Location: Walkable to Purdue, Wabash Landing (Panera Bread, Starbucks, other restaurants), and Target. Parking is outdoor, but there is plenty of space. 2. Rent: Pretty reasonable. 3: The maintenance team: They did a good job. I especially liked them during the first 3–4 years. Cons: 1. They asked me to renew my lease too quickly. 2. The quality of service is not as great as before. Since the pandemic, they have been less responsive to phone calls, and their service quality has declined. They often ignore emails that are inconvenient for them. 3. Maintenance: They used to clean the apartment hallway when birds pooped, but this winter, many birds came to the complex and left a lot of droppings near our door. They haven’t cleaned it in almost six months. I can also see some bird nests. 4. Washer/Dryer issues + No refunds: The coin dryers don’t always work, and they are reluctant to repair them. I never know if a dryer will work until I put in a coin. When I found out that the dryer was broken, the coin did not come back, so I have to contact the office to ask for a refund. One day, multiple dryers did not work, and I eventually lost about $4. I even emailed them with a video as proof, but they ignored my emails many times. When I asked them in person, they told me they would refund me when returning my security deposit, but they never gave me my $4 back. Security deposit was $300 and I received a $182.50 security deposit refund when I move out. Charges were $37.50 for apartment cleaning and $80 for carpet cleaning. $37.50 cleaning charges might not be that a lot, but I wanted them to explain what was good or bad about my cleaning. I prefer to meet with a landlord when moving out to make sure everything is okay.

I lived at CV IV and it was fine. The amenities are pretty bad but it's the cheapest apartment around ($700 /mo/1br). Pretty spacious for what you pay (~650 sqft). Laundry room was in a separate building but still close to me (the dryers were bad and you had to typically run them twice). Heating and AC was good. Never had any issues with bugs beyond drain flies. They were reasonable with the security deposit. I did not clean very well at all, kinda wrecked the place, and still got back more than half. Keep in mind with all the complaining about it many people are slobs. Maintenance was always quick, office people were fine, and of course the location is great and it is cheap. Would I live here again? If I were a broke college student and didn't want roommates, yes.

I lived there 2 years ago. Building was poorly maintained, and the washer and dryer were constantly broken. Put in maintenance requests but they never fixed them. I remember one person specifically in the leasing office was extremely rude, and unhelpful. Service once came in during summer while I was gone, replaced my light bulbs, and left the front door open. Got contacted by the office letting me know my door was open for a week, and I had to drive back hours to make sure nothing was stolen. After I told the office that it was the service people who left the doors open, I did not get an apology or acknowledgement.

It seems other people have had troubles with this office (with security deposits and such) I will say at least personally, I was treated fairly. I was able to get a large portion of my security deposit back (the charges incurred were fair and expected for the most part, though I will note that I did a very deep clean that left the place almost in better shape than when I came in some areas). The office always responded to my emails, calls, maintenance requests with no trouble, didn't charge me for rent when I moved out a month early, and never intruded on my apartment. I'm not sure I would necessarily choose to live in the place I stayed at again (bc of how old the apartment is), but that's just my personal preference and it's not like the apartment was misrepresented before signing my lease.
