Chauncey Square, west-lafayette-in

Chauncey Square was bought by a different company at the beginning of April 2026 and it all went down hill from there. More than a month after being bought out and they still haven't answered my emails that I sent once the change in ownership happened. Even went to the front office at one point to ask my question and couldn't even get an answer there. Had to write down my question and contact information on a notebook. Even then I never received an email back to answer that question. Another thing is that the internet somehow got worse after the ownership switch. Fortunately I haven't had any maintenance issues since the regime change, but the maintenance under the previous company was pretty good. They were always pretty fast to get to resolving issues. I am not sure if that has changed with the new company.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. I lived here for my second year of undergrad at Purdue University and it was the worst living experience I have ever had. The walls were paper thin, and I could hear absolutely everything happening on my floor as well as outside in the alleyway. The internet access was also unreliable, and maintenance was very slow to come fix any issues even when they were critical, such as our sink’s garbage disposal. The elevators were also very unreliable. They also charged me rent for June AFTER charging me a $250 sublease fee, AS WELL AS a $55 late fee because I was under the impression I did not have to pay June or July rent. They were very unclear about this, and used shady business practices to lure in my roommates and me by claiming they did not have any open phase 1 apartments and showing us a much nicer phase 2 apartment instead. I suggest you avoid this community at all costs if you can help it.

Our washing machine was making really loud noises on and off for a week so we called maintenance. Cam came and he ver willingly fixed our washing machine. Really appreciate his help!

I lived here while I was a student. Everything was alright until the final year living here. My unit constantly had maintenance issues, water leaks causing mold in the ceiling, dryer not working due to a lack of maintenance, and terrible plumbing. In addition to this they re-did the floors in the middle of the school year around finals week, requiring residents to move out all of their stuff on a whim. Upon moving out they attempted to charge me $800+, over $2500 when combining all roommates for “cleaning” and “damage repairs”. All of these so-called damages were things such as minor scrapes and scuffs in the walls, all of which would be considered normal wear and tear for a unit lived in for multiple years. I had to dispute these charges and fees, and they were ultimately dropped. Be careful when renting here!

Moved our daughter into Chauncey Square and came across a few issues. I cannot praise Ken and his maintenance team enough! Ken and Matt were extremely accommodation and superb. They were quick to respond and were a total pleasure to work with. I can honestly say I feel better knowing they are around to help the students when needed. Thanks so much!
