Bear Gardens, waco-tx

I don’t normally go out of my way to post stuff like this but I’ve had an experience so unpleasant that I feel obligated to pass the word on. I leased a room at Bear Gardens on 1521 Bagby Ave. for the 2020-2021 school year, and it was the worst apartment I’ve ever lived in. Mid-way through my lease, the apartment was sold to Metric Property Management, and they were borderline non-existent for anything that didn’t involve taking my money. I had work orders open from March 2021 that were not completed even when I moved out in July 2021. However, they did have the time to change my mail key a month before my lease was up and never answered a single call or email about giving me access to my mail, which was super fun! They also had the time to schedule contractors to come into my apartment without notifying anyone but one of my roommates who had already moved out (less than 24 hours before they showed up). These contractors went through and changed all of the countertops for the next residents (doing a terrible job, by the way). And moved everything in my bathroom and kitchen onto the floor which made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I eventually gained access to my mail by having a locksmith come out and open my mailbox for me (on my own dime, thanks Bear Gardens, and thanks Metric Property Management!) The kicker is that even after I moved out, I’ve been charged each month through their automatic payment system for rent. At first, I attempted to go to them to get my money back. I finally was able to talk to an actual person from Metric Property Management, and I thought I was going to be able to kiss that cesspool goodbye. However, I now know that I’ve been getting the run around. Supposedly I have a check in the mail for the rent payment and my security deposit, but unless they sent it from another continent I don’t think it’s coming. It’s been more than 2 weeks since the supposed check was sent, and my hopes are diminishing greatly. I didn’t want to, but I’ve had to put in a dispute with my bank for these charges to hopefully get this money back. My greatest wish is to never deal with this company ever again. WHATEVER YOU DO, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE PREDATORY AND WILL ATTEMPT TO STEAL YOUR MONEY. I just hope someone sees this and decides not to rent from these people.
