The building is poorly maintained, dirty, and cheaply constructed. Unless you’re in the engineering department, it’s also about a mile away from most classes. The photos they advertise are from when the building was first constructed, but they don’t reflect its current condition. It feels like very little long term maintenance has been done. I should have seen the warning signs on move in day. The apartment was infested with flies, there was mold, and it was obvious no cleaning had been done before I arrived. About halfway through the year, one of our light fixtures randomly fell from the ceiling. We submitted a maintenance request, but it was never fixed. This is one of the last places I would ever choose to live again, and I would not recommend it to anyone else. (I would be shocked if this review stays up)

DO NOT live here if you value your sleep, your safety, or your sanity!!! This apartment allows strangers to freely enter the building and throw parties in the common areas. The building has key card-access doors, but they might as well not exist. Random people walk in and out whenever they want, and management does nothing about it. According to the people throwing these parties, they actually have a contract with the apartment that allows them to party on Saturdays. So yes, the apartment is apparently signing deals to let strangers come in and take over your building. Here is what living here actually looks like: The access control is a joke. Non-residents come and go as they please. You are paying for a “secure” building that is anything but. The noise is unbearable. Parties go well past midnight, often until 2 AM or later. Music blasting, people screaming in the hallways. During finals week. The apartment does absolutely nothing to stop it. Underage drinking and drugs. There are clearly underage people drinking at these parties, smashing bottles in the common areas. You can smell alcohol through the elevator. People are smoking marijuana in the building. This is what management is allowing to happen under their roof. And the response from management? Nothing. Zero. I have reported this issue countless times this semester and called the police twice. No acknowledgment, no action, no solution. It is honestly not surprising when you consider that their office hours keep getting shorter and the management company keeps getting swapped out. There is no accountability because there is nobody consistently in charge. If you are a student, especially an international student trying to focus on school, run far away from this place. You will not sleep, you will not feel safe, and nobody in charge will care.

The staff here is very friendly, and the public amenities are comfortable and great for booking group events. However, I feel obligated to warn future residents about the severe security vulnerabilities in the bike storage. My fat tire bike was stolen directly from the designated bike storage room, which requires a key card for entry. I had secured my bike with BOTH a heavy-duty U-lock and a steel cable, but the thief professionally cut through them. I have filed a felony-level police report (Urbana PD Case #2026-99900136). While I understand management is not legally liable for theft, what is deeply concerning is their silence when I asked for practical advice on where it is actually safe to park future vehicles (like another bike or e-scooter). If you own something vital for daily commute, be fully aware that the "controlled-access" system is currently failing to keep professional thieves out.

The worst apartment you can possibly find in the town. Every single walls are thin as paper, easily penetrable by any noise.

Where do I even begin? My friends and I started the apartment search pretty late in the game and were concerned that we wouldn't be able to find an apartment that we loved. However, what I appreciated about CC is that management here is super friendly, helpful, and accommodating in getting us housed for next year. Of course, CC isn't the only apartment with competitive features. However, here are some features that really won our hearts: - Fantastic Amenities: 20 study rooms with screens and open tables? This is a student's dream, and as a telecommuter, I'm even more impressed with how every floor has a handful of conference rooms for group or individual studying. The clubhouse, gym, etc. are really nice, but the sheer number of conference rooms far exceeded any that we saw in other apartment complexes. - Location, Location, Location: Proximity to the Engineering library on campus is key. You can bike, bus, or walk to campus in a matter of minutes. - Super responsive management: Shout out to ZACH! Every email, phone call, question, etc. was fielded promptly and with a friendly willingness to help. Zach even stayed after hours to help clear up any of myriad of questions and get through the application/lease signing process. I saw other residents pop in and out of the leasing office for random requests, and there were always a handful of staff that jumped on to help them. - Diversity & Community: It's no big secret that UIUC hosts a rich demographic of students from various backgrounds. It feels friendly, community-like, and safe and I see really cute decorations hung up around people's doors celebrating their cultural background. Every resident I've run into has been nice, and I see various people walking their dogs around. It feels like a nice dorm experience but with an upscale swing. - Parking: CC has way more affordable parking than other vendors out there. And during the winter when it snows, you'll want covered parking if you own a car. - Layouts: The units that we visited (and I visited friends' non-model units as well for a "real look") were pretty clean and comparable to the ones we saw online through pictures. I like the kitchen island space since I do plan on cooking a lot, but the furnishings are convenient if you don't want to move in/out a lot of items. I can't speak much for the roommate selection process since I'm moving in with friends I already know, but each one of the rooms can lock according to a keyfob so it seems to be reasonably safe & private if that's your thing. Needless to say, my friends and I are super stoked to be able to move in :) Good luck on your apartment search, everyone!
