The York Towson, towson-md

I would not AT ALL recommend living here. Staff tend to give you different answers on parking (which will be an additional 100/month even when not attached to your building) and not try to help you after the fact. The building itself is cheaply constructed, part of my wall has had a massive crack that has not been fixed & I guarantee I’ll be charged for it when I leave, dishwasher doesn’t run properly, seal on fridge is broken and maintenance did not replace it..etc. People allow their pets to use the bathroom in the hallways and not pick it up, and after WEEKS the York finally decides to clean it up by rubbing it into the carpet :) Trash rooms are regularly full of so many trash bags that you can’t even use the chutes, tenants are constantly running in the hallways which would be fine if you couldn’t hear every step someone takes (walls are extremely thin.) The common area is locked at night so you likely aren’t able to access the 24 hour gym after a certain point. Your water will likely not be hot your entire shower, it gets cold around the 10 minute mark usually. Overall, it seems that this complex just wants to extort college kids & their families for as much money as possible with the least benefit to them. It can be nice to be able to walk to places in uptown & Towson’s campus, but it is SO loud almost every night so just not worth it. Wildly expensive for a cheap living experience.

I’ve had a great experience living here! The amenities are nice and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The apartment is conveniently located close to grocery stores, the mall and the Towson University campus. Would recommend to other students looking to live off-campus but a close walking distance to school.

Fire alarm goes off in the middle of the night every month, the tv they given is horrible and stops working every week. Super thin walls can hear everything around you. Highly don’t recommend, sadly I have 3 more months here

Do not live here! I have lived in this place for the past year and it has been the worst living experience I have ever had. You pay way too much for what you get. The trash rooms are always filled with trash so you can’t even get into them to properly use the trash chute. There is dog poop in the hallways. The building always smells like weed and your room will smell as well. Loud music and screaming all night long no matter the day. They say the courtyard is closed after a certain time but that’s a lie, people are out there all night every night. Your room is the size of a shoebox. I’ve complained about all of these things the past year and they don’t do anything. Oh, and when you move out they will charge you for things that were there before you moved in. This place is a complete scam. Live somewhere else!

I am reviewing this under a different name. I really would not recommend living here. For the price you pay (with utilities for a 4 bed it ends up being up to $1300 each) there is not much that makes this place worth it. First of all, when I moved in, my unit was not completely cleaned at all. I continue to find lashes, and nails in my carpet from the people who lived here before me. I also have found leggings in my dresser from the people before me that are not mine. The baseboards and washers were not cleaned either. The water here is disgusting and there is always an orange/pink ring in my sink, toilet, and shower that have ruined my curtains. I can't forget about the smell of weed every single day that is not managed. There is also a funky smell always coming through my vents as well. I have also had issues with fruit flies from other units. There is always loud music, screaming, and drunk people in the hallways, and also the common spaces until 3 am so I really can never have my windows open (my windows go towards the courtyard). I just dont recommend living in uptown towson period actually, the sounds of sirens and helicopters never stop either and keep me awake. The trash room on my floor (floor 6) has been disgusting all year long, and they say that they are keeping an eye out but people just aren't considerate enough to actually throw their trash down the chute. Also people with dogs here do not know how to put them on a leash. The amount of crusty little dogs that approach me should be investigated at this point. Additionally, everytime I leave my apartment I am getting approached by homeless people as well (not a fault of the York really just a Towson issue)
