Malibu Apartments, tampa-fl

I lived here for 3 years in undergrad. Layouts and floorspace are MUCH larger than other rentals in the area. Walking distance to USF Tampa classes. USF Safeteam was able to drop me off directly across the street from my apartment if I was studying late at the library. The staff at Malibu was very friendly (shoutout to Jordan and Lisa at the front desk) and maintenance was performed fairly quickly. Overall a great experience I would recommend!

Honestly for me it’s very nice. It is located it a good area, which is 50th Street, not a very busy street. It’s close to very nice things like Qdoba, AT&T, Mid Florida, the Yuengling Center, the Corbett soccer stadium. All these things are just a walk from Malibu, and their management is very nice, respectful and responsive. And ours rooms are spacious with balconies. If you asked me it’s the perfect place for me as I’ve already renewed my lease. Kudos to Malibu 👍🏽

Malibu has great looking apartments. Huge common areas, every room comes with their own bathroom. The housing staff Lisa & Sandra are amazing! Also has a nice pool area to hang with friends. Definitely would recommend living here!

‼️DO NOT LIVE HERE‼️ just moved my son in a few days ago and opened the door to ROACHES and BUGS and overall disgusting living conditions, the dishwasher was RUSTY, the couch had a huge stain on it, there’s some sort of leakage stain on the roof (4th floor by the way), the walls are gross and i can’t tell if it’s mold or dirt or tiny bugs, the refrigerator is missing compartments, i’ve seen shady 50 dollar a night motels be better maintained than this and here’s the kicker when we alerted management about all of these issues they simply told they gas the place for bugs and that they couldn’t do anything else about the gross state of the rest of the apartment…. again shady motels have given me better service than this honestly i’m looking for a way to sue because my son and his friends JUST moved in the school year hasn’t even started and they are expected to live in these conditions… hopefully management responds to this before i look to take further legal actions because this is RIDICULOUS!!!!!

I would strongly advise against renting at Malibu Apartments. My experience here has been nothing short of a nightmare. The bug problem is out of control—it's so severe that even professional exterminators seem powerless to address it. I've never encountered anything like it, and it made living here incredibly uncomfortable. On top of that, the WiFi is unreliable at best, often cutting out when you need it the most. If you're working from home or rely on the internet for any reason, you'll find yourself constantly frustrated. The air conditioning is equally terrible, barely functioning even in the hottest weather. Despite numerous complaints, management did absolutely nothing to fix these issues. Speaking of management, they are horrendous—completely unresponsive and dismissive of any concerns. As if things couldn’t get worse, I was abruptly kicked out of my unit with very short notice and forced to move to a different unit during the middle of the week. The inconvenience and stress this caused were beyond words. It was handled with no care or consideration for my situation, further highlighting the incompetence and lack of empathy from the management. When it comes time to move out, don't expect to see your security deposit again. They will charge you for random, baseless things just to keep your money. Overall, this place offers a truly horrible living environment. I regret ever moving in here, and I would recommend choosing somewhere far away from Malibu Apartments. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.
