I wanted to update my review because it was originally four stars, but my experience at Vertex has drastically changed; I’ve been a tenant since 2024, when Selina Nunez was the property manager (and when I made my original review) and we had a different maintenance team and leasing staff. When I first moved here, I would’ve recommended The Vertex to anyone who wanted the convenience of being near campus and CollegeTown, but I no longer feel the same. The leasing staff are nice, but recently the quality of Vertex has shot straight into the toilet, especially when it comes to fixing the air conditioning issues, during one of our hottest summers. We are experiencing some of the most severe heat ever, with a heat advisory and extreme heat warning being sent out everyday, and no solution (immediate fixes, portable/window AC) has been given to residents, or at least myself. My emails are never responded to, and when I do go to the front office or call pertaining to this, no one can give me a timeline or an appropriate update, especially considering severe heat inside of units promotes black mold growth and can make people especially sick. Classes start this upcoming Monday and the heat index has been as high as 118. My apartment has been over 80° inside for a week now. I have to cook and shower elsewhere, because I literally can’t do anything in my apartment without sweating. Even in the mornings, it’s cooler outside than it is in my apartment. The Selina Nunez staff was very accommodating and the maintenance staff never failed to answer my maintenance requests. I’ve put in ELEVEN maintenance requests in the past year about my air conditioning since Selena Nunez left. Edit: Believe D Savage’s review. They’re actively deleting reviews; the property manager responded to my review and said he would find cooling solutions for me, and now that response has been deleted. I’ve both called and emailed him and have heard NOTHING. I’ve had to purchase a portable air conditioner myself, out of pocket, and to this day 8/27/2026, nothing has been done about giving me solutions to keeping my apartment cool. Look elsewhere.

THIS WAS ALL TAKEN IN ONE DAY ! Termite wings on my pillows , roaches and all various types of bugs coming out of the vent, wasp in the light, The laundry room is dirty, and there are roaches in the laundry room, Dead roaches everywhere no matter if you been in the apartment or not Every corner of the apartment has a spiderweb inside and outside. There are three spiderwebs in my living room as we speak and pest control has not been here at all. staff tend to do nothing

Mixed review… as the apartment unit I was signed for was uninhabitable and filled with bugs, animal smells and no working AC. Staff were understanding and patient, but unfortunately have limited control or access to decision makers in regional management for problems such as this which causes frustration as it seems the problem isnt taken seriously by the ownership company. However they did what they could given the situation and Particularly Jordan, as well as property managers including Khary along with maintenance manager Jesse were all extremely helpful and felt terrible about the situation I was in. I was seen as a priority by the staff and the maintenance people once the extent of this issue was understood by them and they helped me move to a new unit. I just wish this attention had been given to my unit in the form of an inspection prior to me driving hours and taking off of work to move in on my move in day. Moreover, I nor my guarantor have received and communications from upper management in regards to any reconciliation or reimbursement for the immense costs and stress I incurred the two days I had no unit to stay in. In conclusion, although this move in experience with vertex has been terrible (was basically homeless for like 2 days because my apartment was so nasty and 90 degrees), the on site staff did what they could to rectify the situation and the maintenance guys have great attitudes and work ethics. It’s primarily the predatory companies that own these apartments that are at fault. I would say research specific places and their ownership before leasing here.

I like living at the Vertex Apartments. The cleanliness of the community has definitely improved and living here has been even better since the new Manager, Classie, came in—she’s made the whole experience way more enjoyable. The community is also convenient for me since it’s close to campus and everything I need. I’d definitely recommend this place to other students.

Only nice thing about this place is the wine cooler everything else out the window definitely A SCAMM!!!! I really want to put this out here for anyone trying to move to this location. I have drove two hours to live here from my home and I can say all I wanted to do when I saw this place was turnaround and drive two hours back if it wasn’t for school, I don’t know if I would even have step foot on the property first off the stairs are dirty and the first apartment I got introduced to smelled like straight smoke, and there was dead roaches on the floor, and the roommate was just dirty as ever, and they were trying to move me into the apartment then the second unit they tried to move me in had poop in the toilet in the bathroom that they said no one was in and the room was for me now let’s talk about the room. My room probably has the most pest on this apartment block and I’ve only been living here for one week and I’m already ready to move out. The balcony wood is rotting and they don’t do anything about it. They don’t keep up with this place at all. I’d rather live on campus than live here.
