My daughter lived in two of these apartments; the reason we chose them was that the location was very convenient for her. However, there were issues: the main elevator was constantly broken and took a long time to fix, and the hallways always smelled bad—it seemed like no one was cleaning them or the hallway carpets. When my daughter graduated last year, I made sure the apartment was left clean—especially her bedroom, the living room, and the kitchen. I visited several times to clean because I value cleanliness. It really bothers me that they didn't return the security deposit—I wonder if they do this to all students—and now they are charging us extra, claiming we left trash in the room and that they had to paint, among other things. So, what did they do with the deposit? I took photos, but I can't find them now. I had cleaned everything thoroughly. Please, if you are going to rent there, make sure everything is in order and take photos. If possible, have someone from the office come up to verify that everything is fine. That was my mistake—not having someone verify the condition—and that is how they get money out of people.

I have lived here for 2 years and I love the community here from my awesome roomates, some were random and have become my best friends, to the awesome staff in the office. Just this week Emi in the office was very helpful and was happy to answer all my questions. She was happy to help and very resourceful. I think the closeness of the building to campus is awesome as well as the safety of living with all collage students. I definetly would live here again.

Apartment management is unprofessional and unethical. I would strongly caution anyone considering signing a lease with this apartment community, especially students or families relocating from out of state. My 18-year-old daughter signed a lease, but within approximately one week we notified the leasing office that she would no longer be moving to Florida and would never be taking possession of the apartment. She never moved in, never occupied the unit, and informed management immediately. Despite this, we were told we are responsible for a $1,400 relet fee, an additional $850 fee, and that WE must find someone to take over the lease ourselves. This feels extremely unfair and predatory, especially given that the unit was never occupied and notice was provided almost immediately after signing. Families should carefully read every line of the lease and ask detailed questions about cancellation, reletting, and termination policies before signing anything. Our experience has been incredibly disappointing.

I've lived at Statehouse for two years and absolutely love it! I was randomly assigned roommates and they've become some of my closest friends for life. The staff is always so helpful, maintenance is quick, and location is so great (I have no car on campus). Its been the best place to live and I could'nt imagine being anywhere else!

This apartment complex doesn’t care about its customers. I pay almost $200 a month for one parking spot so I shouldn’t be worried about parking. I work a job a bar which means I drive home from work at 3 am. Last night I drove home and there was not one parking spot available in the parking garage. They over sold the parking spots. I had to park at a far away spot last night at 3 am and walk alone home in the middle of Tallahassee. No student should have to worry about this. Whenever I said something statehouse arena doesn’t do anything about it.
