I’ve lived at the Legacy for two years now and I have had nothing less than a great experience. The building is well maintained and well-kept. The apartment unit itself is spacious, practical, and so homey. The front desk staff, particularly Megan and Issiaka are so receptive and willing to help. They always have a great attitude and go above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly. The maintence staff, Jeremy and Dave are so proactive, professional, and helpful. Any maintence request is done in a timely manner and with a great attitude. I would recommend living here to anyone.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PALCE TO LIVE!!!!! I’ve had a blast living here at the legacy the manger Megan was always very helpful and I’ve always felt like I could come to her with any problems I had and she she was always quick to rectify the situation or inform of the vast recourse the building had to support me. The front desk staff like Issiaka was also very friendly He’s there everyday making sure me, my roommates, and all the residents were good and had everything we needed. He definitely brinks a warm environment to the front desk and definitely the man to go too if you need anything! It was a great experience living here and I’m sad I have to leave this beautiful place after I graduate soon.

The Legacy in State College is one of the most frustrating and poorly managed housing experiences I’ve dealt with. If you expect basic professionalism, clear billing, or even minimal customer service, you will be disappointed. From day one, this place has been defined by disorganization and zero accountability. They failed to send the first month’s rent invoice, then refused to give my son his keys upon arrival until payment was made on the spot. The only option? A credit card payment with an added fee. This wasn’t a misunderstanding. It was their mistake, and we were forced to pay extra because of it. It only got worse. It took months of repeated calls and document uploads to get a simple renter’s insurance waiver approved, despite submitting exactly what was required. It was a clear issue of the automated system not scanning the document coorectly. Instead of fixing it, they continually blamed their third-party insurance vendor and told us to deal with them directly. Let’s be clear: Tenants sign a lease with The Legacy, not their vendors. Passing responsibility like this is not just unhelpful, it’s unprofessional. The most recent issue is even more telling. Rent was set up on automatic payment from my checking account and has worked consistently. Yet for one month, they randomly charged a credit card instead, adding a ~$42 fee. I never changed the payment method. The property manager even acknowledged there may have been a system issue due to an upgrade at that time. This was later verified (without their help) as the cause. And yet: The fee has not been reversed No one followed up Calls are not returned The manager ultimately refused to speak with me and deflected to staff who provided no resolution. Instead, once again, the blame was shifted to their third-party payment processor. There is a clear and consistent pattern here: Errors originate on their end Fees get charged anyway No one takes ownership You are told to chase their vendors for resolution It feels less like mismanagement and more like a business model built on nickel-and-diming residents while avoiding responsibility when things go wrong. Communication is nearly nonexistent. When you do reach someone, they buy time with vague promises to “look into it” and never follow up. For a property that markets itself as premium student housing, this level of service is unacceptable. If you choose to live here, assume: You will need to audit every charge You will need to fight to fix their mistakes And you will likely be doing their job for them There are far too many housing options in State College to deal with this level of incompetence and disregard for residents.

Megan and Issiaka were extremely pleasant to interact with! I was looking at the Legacy as a prospective place to live, and they always had a positive and helpful attitude. Unfortunately, there weren’t more available units on property by the time I came to the end of my search, but it was definitely high on the list for me.

I’ve spent the past two years calling this place home, enjoying a comfortable setup with everything I needed day to day. It’s been a reliable and easy place to settle into, making everyday living simple and convenient.
