The building is unsafe and disgusting, which is an even greater shame given its beautiful historical bones. During my residency, there were countless unresolved issues with the building and my apartment. Maintenance rarely bothered to show up, and the few times they did, they made my issues worse. Here are a few of the worst issues I had: - Terrible insulation and HVAC. In the winter, it was so cold my feet and hands went numb. Summer, scorching. Maintenance marked requests to fix it as complete without even entering my apartment, and when the office staff finally got them to install a window unit, it was installed haphazardly with duct tape. My AC never fixed, and even with the wall unit it was 80+ degrees in my apartment all summer. - Broken/jammed external doors, allowing anyone to enter the building at any time and freely use the elevators, which had no security measures. I rarely saw security officers, and when I did, it was only one at a time for the entire building. While I lived in the building, there were multiple violent crimes inside the building, including rape (reportedly by a Coronado employee) and several instances of gun violence. - Frequent water issues, mainly shutdowns and leaks. Many of these shutdowns happened on very short notice and for long periods of time. Of the multiple leaks in my apartment, the worst continued for a month and I had to threaten to call city inspectors before it was fixed. When maintenance inspected it, they knocked over the bucket I was using to contain the dirty water from the leak. Several of my things were damaged by this and it was not cleaned up. - At most, 2 working elevators for a 14-floor building. The stairs were narrow and dirty, and the doors to access them often did not work. The elevators frequently had issues, and the broken two were never fixed during the 2 years I lived here. - Malfunctioning key system which left me locked out of my apartment several times. I had to replace my key fob multiple times because it just stopped working for no discernible reason. At one point, many residents were locked out of the garage because the new locks were improperly set up. - Extra charges and scams. Residents were back-charged for ~6 months of utilities at once, notified by email that these charges were not even guaranteed to be accurate but if they were not paid in full with barely any notice they would incur late fees. I was charged for things that weren't in my lease multiple times and the staff was very slow to resolve these issues, only cooperating once I threatened litigation. This is basically a slum. You will mostly likely not even save money. Do not live here.

Avoid this place. Seriously—look elsewhere. See the photos! I lived at Coronado Apartments for 4 years only because of its proximity to the VA, where I had frequent call shifts. Unfortunately, that convenience was the only positive. Management is consistently unprofessional and difficult to deal with. Communication is poor—they often avoid speaking with residents and, in my experience, provide misleading information instead of resolving issues. Maintenance is unreliable. Requests are frequently marked as “completed” without actually being fixed. I dealt with a broken AC, ongoing cleanliness issues in hallways, and overall poor upkeep of the property. At one point, residents were denied access to their mailboxes for an extended period, forcing me to pay for a USPS PO box just to receive mail. Safety is another serious concern. There have been incidents including violent crime, sexual assault, and repeated car thefts and vandalism in the area. Overall, this was the worst rental experience I’ve had in St. Louis. I would strongly recommend considering other

It is so much I can say in this review about this place. I see they are trying to get better they have done some renovations here and there but it’s major concerns that still need to be fixed. It’s almost 80 degrees in my apartment and I feel like they don’t look at the air issue as important. They provide only one little old window ac that can only cool down a little area. Meanwhile the bedrooms are super hot and it’s so uncomfortable. I have been putting in multiple Maintance request and I feel like nothing ever gets solved with the air. It’s almost 90 degrees outside and you come inside to a place with no air is crazy. Then you still pay utilities when your air doesn’t even work and they cut off the water every 2 days it seems like. This place has no many issues I would not recommend staying here.

Temporary living only please don’t make the mistake of staying long term I feel bad for the students because it’s a waste of money staying here especially as a non-student resident with children I’ve had a horrible experience staying here parking sucks the parking officers patrol every hour seem like I mean there isn’t a brake when it come to parking the elevators suck maintenance isn’t as good but they do come out and get the job done there’s a lot going on in this building and new management has been getting things together but they also don’t make staying here easy be prepared to be looking for another place while staying here because it not going to last long.. Everything sucks about staying here I will be moving as soon as my lease is up. If this is your only option for students then just be cautious about everything and make sure you keep a copy of everything to and from property management if you have children just keep going don’t even bother stopping here.

PLEASE take this as your warning. I was told not to live in coronado place and towers by MULTIPLE people and I should have listened :((( The location of Coronado Place and Towers is convenient, but not worth the lack of care from management and the many issues I have encountered. (I recommend reading news stories about nado before signing a lease as well) To start off, I moved in on Aug 17, 2022. We were not allowed to move in until halfway through August despite paying rent for the whole month because the apartment had to be cleaned. This would have been fine, except we entered our apartment the morning that our lease started to 8 people living in our apartment with their belongings & furniture (pictured). The people living in our apartment were in charge of cleaning all of the apartments (they were staying in ours) but this meant that ours did not get cleaned AT ALL. We brought this issue to management and they did nothing about it. There was furniture left in our apartment (it was supposed to come unfurnished so we brought everything) and nothing was cleaned. The next issue we encountered was the WiFi. I received a letter in the mail saying that our Spectrum contract up at the end of the month. Wi-Fi was included in the lease, so I did not think much of it. Then, the Wi-Fi in our building went out. It was out for a month. When we asked management, they said it “wasn’t their fault” (pictured). When I went to Spectrum to buy my own temporary wifi and inquire about the issue, I was told that Coronado had not renewed the internet contract. When I signed a lease for Coronado Place and Towers, I was excited about the amenities that I saw and heard about when I toured and visited the website. Unfortunately, many of these amenities are closed. Many advertisements for Nado feature a picture of a big beautiful pool, (pictured) when in reality the pool has been closed since I moved in 2 years ago. It is frustrating and unfair. They also mention a movie theater and bowling alley on the website, both of which have been closed forever. While the maintenance staff has been kind, the only follow-up o have received has been emergency requests. When our fridge broke, I submitted a request and we were brought an OLD, dirty fridge (pictured). The same happened with our oven. Our dryer has had a broken vent since we moved in, creating a fire hazard. We have filed several requests, each being marked as “resolved” with no actual fix. Parking garage is one of the biggest issues about the lease. Despite paying $50/month for parking, the garage is unsafe and disgusting. The gate for entering and exiting is always open, and several cars are broken into each week. While there has been slight improvement in security, I still do not feel comfortable leaving my car in the garage for extended periods of time. Whenever I go to the leasing office about an issue, they write down my name and tell me to send an email about the situation. I have never received a response to an email or a follow-up to a problem. While there have been a select few staff members who have taken time to help me, I have left feeling incredibly defeated and frustrated by the rudeness and unprofessional staff.
