I personally wouldn’t recommend living here. The one positive I’ll say is that the maintenance was overall pretty responsive, expect when I had a bug infestation. They didn’t send anyone out for days, meaning I just couldn’t live there or enter the house. The people in the complex above me were horrible (throwing parties every night until 6am, blaring music, unregistered firearms, etc), and they don’t get evicted until about 4 months in, despite me having to call the cops at least 1-3 times a week. I understand it’s not Elevate’s fault that these people were bad renters, but being a little more proactive with the situation would’ve been nice. Additionally, they claim the complex has a locked gate, but they didn’t activate the lock on it until months after the move-in date. Many of the people here aren’t students, which isn’t a problem, but if you’re looking for student living, I’d go elsewhere. Parking is also an extra $40 a month and you can’t have guests park here whatsoever, so good luck having people over. Apartments are not super clean upon move in and you are charged a full month’s rent even though move in is in the middle of August (you can ask to move in a few days early around August 11th, which I did, but not the beginning of August). It might seem cheap on paper for the area, and the location is pretty good for MSU students, but the hidden fees make it no less expensive than any other place around. I had to call multiple times in the first few months of renting to get random fees taken off my bill. One of these was charging me for parking when I never signed a parking agreement. They will also charge you in the first month to change all of the utilities/wifi to be in your name, something that they don’t warn you they’ll do. It also took them 4 months to get me off the automatic renters insurance even though I had proven I had my own upon move in. Also, there are no amenities at this specific complex you can benefit from (other properties of theirs do have a gym/rooftop, but not this one) so you might as well go to Bear Village or somewhere with a pool for nearly the same price. Maybe some people enjoyed their time here, but I can’t say I did, nor do I think it’s worth the price.

I would not recommend living at the Jefferson. The TV was ancient so good luck connecting laptops, gaming consoles, or streaming services without paying for a Roku, fire stick, etc. yourself, the gate into the building didn’t lock for months, the lobby bathroom never had soap or toilet paper, after ending my lease early and being told I had 60 days to pay the remaining rent + fees I received multiple messages and calls regarding “overdue payment” within that time period, and above all else, on my final inspection after moving out I was charged $90 in cleaning fees. Attached I have photo documentation, sent by the Jefferson, of the mess I left worth charging almost $100 for.

The jefferson is an amazing apartment complex! They have a really good study lounge and other amenities that you can use at the other three locations with elevate. The office staff at deep elm that is over the 4 complexes are super helpful and the maintenance team is amazing. If your looking for student living elevate student living is amazing.

I lived here for three years and had very few issues. Whenever I had a problem, calling the office usually resulted in a quick solution. Shoutout to Sam and Jersey who helped me with the many questions I had during move-out. It’s a great place to live for MSU students!

Im a current resident. The property mangers and staff are entitled and will accuse you of things you didn't do, or at least they did with me. Appliances are always breaking down or don't work. Like the garbage disposal or the code lock on your front door. All around terrible place to live.
