Do not move in here. Terrible keep-up in the apartment complex. The elevators are almost always broken for months on end. I lived here for two years and the apartment has went downhill dramatically. In addition, we have had two instances where things have been stolen in both my locked apartment and my now husband’s locked apartment. When brought to managements attention, nothing was done.

I toured 8.5 Canal and had a really good experience. The apartments looked really nice and it seems like a great place for students to live. Juliette and Nyjae were both really welcoming and friendly during the tour and made me feel comfortable asking questions. Overall, they made the experience really positive.

I took a tour of 8 1/2 canal today and loved it. Moriah was my tour guide and she was very sweet and answered my questions. Also one of the managers up front was very patient with me. I had a lot of questions and so did my mom but he was super helpful and made sure we felt comfortable. They took good care of the building and had some great amenities. I toured a couple of places and looked at a lot of listings and there is so many places especially in the city that are expensive and yet they are roach infested or outdated but this place was the opposite. I’m glad that I applied and happy about moving in soon.

Tesia was amazing and very thorough with our tour. We didn’t have an appointment but she was still available to show is the property. We loved the apartments and signed up the next day. My son is looking forward to living at 8 1/2 canal street for his Sophomore year at VCU.

My daughter and I recently toured 8 1/2 Canal Street and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our tour guide, Alijah, was outstanding — knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely took the time to show us around thoroughly and answer every question we had. My daughter will be submitting her application ahead of starting at the university this fall. If the rest of the staff is anything like Alijah, this is a great place to call home!
