THE LAST 5 STAR REVIEW IS NOT WITH THIS LADY. THAT IS FOR AN APARTMENT SHE RENTS HER HOUSES. MORE INFO AFTER MY REVIEW. Was not a fit for me, but the main reason for the 1 star review is that there was no privacy. Heads up texts that someone was coming over was a treat, NOT the norm. I would be at work and get a random text complaining that the house and room was a mess. Felt very exposed and was nervous when I wasn't at home. Also, don't believe her when she says there is plenty of parking space in the driveway. There absolutely is not if it's a full house. I would ONLY recommend this place if you are a minimalistic person with very little possessions, don't have a car (or a small one), and is social enough to communicate who's gonna block who at night so the morning people can leave. (Especially during winter. Spring-fall there is community Parking- thank god) Otherwise, i'd advise against it. THE FAKE 5 STAR REVIEW Take the last 5 star review with a grain of salt. The one with the cat and the "black man who opened my eyes to racism" review. idk if things have changed but when I was there it was NO PETS allowed. I don't even think an ESA could live here. Additionally, it was women's housing so idk who the man is in that story. Maybe since I've been there she's doing men and womens in separate houses, (HIGHLY DOUBT she'd let messy boys live, she's a neat freak) but she would *NEVER* let them live together. Also she rents her houses NOT an apartment. Good review, they got wrong place unfortunately.

I had a great time living at this apartment—it really felt like home. The neighbors were friendly, the amenities were solid, and the staff always went above and beyond. It wasn’t just a place to crash; it was a spot where life happened, memories were made, and stories were born. Speaking of stories—one time, our cat (Princess Cleopatra, a.k.a. Queen of Drama) managed to trap herself inside the washing machine. Don’t ask me how, but she snuck in during laundry day and gave us the scare of our lives. We could hear meowing but couldn't figure out where it was coming from. After 20 minutes of panic and cat bribery, we had to call the apartment manager. Shoutout to Marcus—he showed up with a flashlight, a can of tuna, and the calm of a seasoned firefighter. Ten minutes later, Cleo was rescued, unbothered, and acting like she owned the place (which, honestly, she did). On a deeper note, as a Black man, living here also gave me space to reflect and grow. In February—and honestly, every month—I found myself thinking about what Black history means beyond just the textbooks. It's the everyday presence, resilience, and brilliance of Black folks in spaces like this. Whether it's swapping stories on the balcony, sharing food that reminds us of home, or just existing with pride—it’s all part of our living history. This place gave me room to feel that, to be that. I’d recommend this apartment to anyone. Just double-check the washer before you press start.

Do NOT rent here!! I lived at Condie Cottage for a year, and I loved it and the girls I lived with, but Jenice does not respect her tenants. When I lived there, she would come and look through our personal items, and try to move things around and enter our rooms without permission, even when people were in those rooms. I confronted her several times because it made my roommates really unconfortable, but she wouldn't stop. When I left almost a year ago, she charged me a high emount in cleaning fees when the house was still being lived in, the clean checks themselves were completed a week after I cleaned, and I was told if there were things I missed, I could come back and clean more, but I was never given that chance. Her cleaning sheet is a joke because she charges costs like $15 for not dusting. And when I talked with Jenice about it, she said she wouldn't charge me, but now she wants the money now almost a year later. Do not rent from her. She wants your money, and your respect, and pretents to care but she does not respect you, even when you respectfully talk with her about your truthful concerns.

This house is a very nice house, it has lots of potential. The yard is gorgeous (when it isn't covered in 6 feet of snow) the whole place is overall nice. However: The owner is NOT tenant friendly. She will find any opportunity to charge you on anything. She will not communicate effectively, she will blame everything on anyone except herself. She does not do background checks, which often ends with nasty roommate situations (my time here with one of these unwanted roommates has lead me to therapy and counseling it was that bad). While I contacted her about that said roommate, and she promptly evicted that tenant, it was solely because she was worried about the property NOT the tenants. Ever since, she has only visited the property once UNNANOUNCED and moved around almost every tenants stuff while they were away on Christmas break. Furthermore, I tried contacting her about the mold in the bathroom that was here before I moved in, in which the law states that's on the owner to take care of... Her response was to put some elbow grease into scrubbing the obvious supermold because she doesn't want to take care of her own property in which she claims "doesn't make much money" after shoving 9 girls into one house. I was absolutely willing to tough it out with the Managers, who were a fantastic buffer between tenant and owner, except they left to live their life, and the new managers are not experienced, and are at the mercy of the Owner's anti-tenant expectations. The owner cares so much about appearance, yet puts none of the effort into her own property, expecting 9 female tenants with no background check to not only get along, but to take on the responsibility of their own maintenance, although stated in contract that is not our job. This is the 23rd property I've lived on in my life, and I know a greedy Owner/landlord when I see one. This has been the worst. There is extremely poor communication, and you're set up for failure. If you want to live here I highly recommend a one month contract to make a quick escape. If you want a place to put your stuff and not ever actually live here, you are the ideal tenant, however if you want to have any life at all, prepare to be micromanaged from 500 miles away.

Best place I’ve ever lived. I absolutely love it and the girls that live here! Heidi is the BEST landlord around. She’s kind, helpful, and is always willing to listen. A lot of the bad reviews on here are because the girls broke the rules. Heidi always makes sure that everyone in the house is comfortable with their roommates so everyone can live in peace. She makes us cookies and brings over little treats, her husband is always there to help fix things around the house right when we need it. I LOVE living here.
