The Dean Reno, reno-nv

I just went on a tour the other week and I loved the building so much. A girl named Kate took me and my friends and she absolutely sold us on the place. We all sign immediately after the tour and it was such an easy and smooth process. I’m so exited to be a future resident!

Warning for Students and Parents: After a 2-year lease on B1- penthouse level ($1260 per person) please don’t assume your first preference on renewal as we did, sadly. My daughter was explicitly told she had until 2/2/2026 by closing at 6:00 PM to renew her apartment. This was not vague, she spoke face-to-face with two staff members and also has a voicemail confirming the exact deadline. She rearranged her schedule and arrived at 5:40 PM on 2/2/2026, fully prepared to sign her renewal. Instead, she was told by a Dean Reno employee that her apartment had a signed lease already, and it wasn’t her…. “Sorry.” What followed were multiple phone calls and emails. Conflicting explanations from each student on staff with zero accountability. My daughter ultimately sent an email attaching “the voicemail” that clearly states the renewal deadline she was given by Dean Reno staff. (Honestly, we thought this would solve the issue). Although, when all phone calls and emails went unanswered, my daughter was forced to stop by the office early AM prior to work, only to find no manager on staff. Then leaving work early to wait in the Dean lobby to hopefully speak with a Manager before missing her next class. End result: Despite following every instruction provided, she is now being forced to move out of her unit and down the hall into a smaller unit, also being charged a $200 transfer fee for an error that was entirely avoidable. This created a major inconvenience and emotional stress for a college senior carrying a full course load while working full time, as well as her out-of-town family. A situation that never should have happened with competent, properly trained staff. Why have a deadline if you don’t honor it? Why make students chase management in person after ignoring calls and emails? The Dean Reno has shown zero respect for students or their families who follow the rules put in place. Housing stability is critical for students, and this experience demonstrated a serious lack of professionalism, accountability, and concern for student well-being. I strongly caution students and parents to get everything in writing and think carefully before trusting this property. *B1penthouse level. Current rent: $1260 per room.

I lived here for a year while attending UNR, horrible experience. The management is unfair and will charge you absurd amounts for minor things. While living here they implemented a rule where if any trash was left on the ground inside the trash room. Everyone on the entire floor has to pay $250. So if someone else dropped something then you had to pay $250 for that. Also while living here someone I was hanging out with sat on a piece of furniture and it broke, they charged me $250 for that even though it was their furniture that fell apart. Also the WiFi here is often not working at night time and our AC broke multiple times while living there.

Management cannot be bothered to check cameras and only fine the offending parties AS THEY SAID they would and are instead resorting to collective punishment. A substantial amount of the residents cannot afford a surprise $250 charge and this shows the laziness and lack of care management has for the residents of the building

I would strongly recommend not signing up for this apartment complex. We signed what we thought was a letter of interest, and it was actually a lease which eye as the mother did not even have to sign for my child who has no credit he’s only 18 then when he changed his mind, he found another roommate to take his place and they are still charging me $500 for paperwork. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. I’m shocked that they are still able to do this because I’ve heard from other parents the same situation complete robbery.
