Union on 5th Annex, pittsburgh-pa

Libby, the property manager at Union Annex, is fantastic. She is approachable, responsive and accommodating. The maintenance department has been great with my son, helping him when needed. The location of the apartment is great being so close to campus. There have been issues but they were addressed and fixed in a timely fashion. Safety and security of my Duquesne Duke staying in the apartment means the world to me and there has been no issue there!

First, I love my apartment unit. I live in a studio and it is super cute with plenty of space. Here’s the issue- there is no way for delivery drivers to access the building. I usually have to send packages to the other union building, they get put in a locker, I don’t get the code, it’s a whole thing. Or like today, I get it delivered to my building and it’s left on the street and opened with all the contents stolen. Some tenants still don’t have mail box keys 11 months into living here.The picture below is a sign made by a tenant. We have to rummage through everyone’s mail to find our own. I was told by another tenant that someone in management said our security cameras don’t work (at least the one by her unit). Some people that work here, specifically Libby is great. She is always apologetic about the mail issues and quick to resolve it. Nobody will ever actually answer the phone, guaranteed. Overall the units themselves are nice but management can be a nightmare. Edit: I was locked out of my apartment and management did not let me back in for 48 hours because their “emergency maintenance line” was not operational. Now that I am back in, my AC unit went out and it’s 84 degrees in my apartment, now I’m waiting to see how long it will take to come fix it.
