The WiFi here is absolutely terrible. Throughout 2026, it has basically gone down once every single month. Every time it happens, it takes a full day or more to fix — and somehow it’s almost always on weekends. This isn’t a minor inconvenience. You can be in the middle of work or anything important, and suddenly you’re just offline for an entire day with no real solution. If you can’t provide something as basic as stable internet, you really shouldn’t be running a place like this.

Come on guys, really? Another internet (WiFi) outage? I just went through my email and counted and from what I can tell, we have now had SEVEN internet outages over my less than 1 full lease year of stay with them (that is approximately 1 every month). It often goes out on the weekends too, and when it does, it is gone for the entire weekend. With the huge amounts in rent they charge and a $100 increase in rent next year, you'd think they could at least get a reliable and better internet service provider. We are 1 week away from final exams and I got homework and projects to do and exams to study for, and now the internet is gone so I need to either use my hotspot or spend the entire day outside my room to find a spot to study. Seriously, please get a better ISP and figure something out about this issue.

I think Here is an okay place to live. To start with the pros: Staff is super friendly, location is great, nice gym and courtyard, and nice sky deck (although a bit small). Also nice that the rooms come furnished. Staff also makes an effort to put on events which is nice as well. I believe the real issue is with whoever manages the building, not the people that actually work here in the office. For starters, whoever designed this building should be fired. The walls are the thinnest walls I’ve ever experienced. I can hear everything that happens outside, my roommates room, common room, and the people above and around my apartment. Aside from this, WORST garage design ever. Sensor to open the garage sucks and you have no space to actually get into the garage. I’ve witnessed so many people scratch their cars because you have no room to pull in. Also, there has been construction for the past few months for the siding, which has been inconvenient for getting out of the garage and getting out of the semple side entrance in general (walking). I’ve lived here 2 years and I switched units that I was in, so I experienced both a 3x3 Suite and a 2x2. Private. You have no say over what room you get, which is unfortunate. You might be one of the rooms with a great view, or you might get a room that faces the parking garage and gets no natural lighting. Window sizes also vary as all my roommates and I were paying the same yet had different sized windows. I personally don’t think it’s fair for people to be paying the same price for a bad vs good room layout/view/windows. My view’s great now which I love, but I know some people who pay the same have a terrible view and I feel for them as someone who had a room facing the parking garage prior. Another downside is that the rooms are small. You do have the option to have a bigger room in the suite style which is nice, but if I’m paying roughly $1900/month then I think the room should be bigger. Also, package room should be redesigned to have lockers. Everyone’s packages are in there, so anyone can take whoever’s package. There’s a camera in there which makes it slightly better, but there’s so many packages piled up to the point that I don’t even think the footage would help if your package got stolen. Another thing I don’t like is how the courtyard and sky deck only have certain hours. I get not wanting it to be noisy, but they should still let people access it and if they’re being too loud then deal with it on a case by case basis. If that’s not an option, then I think hours should be adjusted for the weekend. Now for my personal experiences… I was the first person to live in my prior unit and my dryer broke within the first year of living there. A brand new dryer should not be breaking, and if it does, it shouldn’t take months to fix it. I got no compensation, just access to the model unit dryer which I could only access during their office hours which was super inconvenient. Another issue with my previous unit, was that it always smelled like Chipotle. There’s a chipotle right below the apartment, so it makes sense, but it was an awful smell. I don’t have this issue in my current unit, so I’m happy about that. I also got trapped in the trash room last year. The door knob fell off from the inside, and I got stuck in there for 30 minutes since I didn’t have my phone. Luckily someone heard me banging on the door and screaming for help so I eventually got out. Someone had gotten trapped before me as well, yet they didn’t add any warning or signs. Overall, I think the apartment complex is nice, especially for Oakland, but I do think there are some major issues with it considering it’s supposed to be “luxury.” This year, I’ve noticed they’ve improved with the cleaning which I am very happy about. The staff has also always been extremely friendly, which I appreciate. I haven’t had any major issues, so I’m overall happy with my experience here especially relative to other options in Oakland. I think this place would be much better though if these common issues were addressed.

My child recently transferred to Pittsburgh, and through my extensive research, I found HERE Pitt. I can honestly say the Leasing Team has been nothing but helpful and kind to help us through this leasing process. I always appreciate that whenever I call or come to the office, A staff member is always eager to help us through the leasing process! I have also had a great experience in viewing the study area and gym, love how clean it stays and how nice they are. It is one of the nicer gyms I have seen in a student apartment building. While the move-in process can be stressful for anyone, the maintenance team has been nothing but responsive and helpful with all of our concerns and questions. I also didn't realize how close this location was to EVERYTHING! She can get to campus and to a coffee shop in under 5 min! Overall, I have had the absolute best experience at the HERE Pittsburgh staff so far and would recommend this to any parent who is looking for a place for their child!

If I could ZERO STARS I WOULD! The property is plagued by constant trash issues — persistent foul odors, overflowing bins, and unsanitary conditions that management chronically ignores. It is disgraceful and wholly unacceptable for any residential building. But the true nightmare is the management, especially Alyssa. I have never encountered someone so consistently hostile, unprofessional, and openly indifferent to basic tenant concerns. Her communication is evasive, erratic, and often combative. She shows no willingness to listen, no interest in resolving issues, and no respect for residents whatsoever. Her behavior is so shockingly dismissive and antagonistic that it borders on harassment. Alyssa is, frankly, the most difficult and unpleasant property representative I have ever interacted with — unresponsive, unhelpful, and entirely unwilling to take responsibility for anything. Her conduct creates an environment that feels predatory and unsafe, and raises serious concerns about how this building treats its tenants. I strongly warn anyone considering signing a lease: this building, and particularly its management, will make your life miserable. The treatment I’ve received has been so egregious that it arguably approaches conduct that could warrant legal scrutiny.
