I don't typically write reviews, but I wanted to recognize The Scion Group for the way they handled a challenging situation. My daughter is a resident at one of their student housing communities, and we encountered a complicated lease issue involving multiple parties and a series of unusual circumstances. After spending several weeks trying to navigate the situation at the property level, I reached out to a member of their corporate team for assistance. Anne Stanard responded incredibly quickly, took the time to understand the circumstances, communicated with the local team, and kept me informed throughout the process. Most importantly, she helped facilitate a resolution that allowed everyone involved to move forward. What stood out to me was not just the outcome, but the professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine willingness to help. Anne treated us with kindness and respect from our very first interaction, and her communication restored my confidence that the situation was being taken seriously. Thank you, Anne, for your time, compassion, and commitment to helping us reach a positive resolution. Your efforts truly made a difference for my daughter and her roommate, and we are very grateful.

My roommates and I take great pride in maintaining a clean and organized apartment, yet since moving into Chapel Ridge in Chapel Hill, NC, in August, we have been dealing with a persistent roach infestation that has made living here extremely uncomfortable and unsanitary. Despite two self-scheduled pest control treatments and multiple reports to the leasing office, the problem continues to worsen. We have found roaches on our walls, in our beds, in the bathroom, and even in sealed containers — an unacceptable situation in any living environment, let alone one marketed to students. What is particularly concerning is the lack of responsiveness and accountability from management. Our repeated maintenance requests have been met with little urgency, and the measures taken so far have been ineffective. We have resorted to purchasing and applying our own pest control products just to make the space livable. It’s also important to note that this issue is not isolated. Several other tenants in our building have reported similar infestations, indicating that this is a larger, building-wide problem that has yet to be properly addressed. As students balancing classes, work, and daily responsibilities, we should not have to live in such unsanitary conditions or take on the role of pest control ourselves. Until Chapel Ridge management takes these concerns seriously and implements real, long-term solutions, I cannot recommend this property to any student or parent seeking housing in Chapel Hill.

Atrocious company to deal with. Had charges for my son in Savoy for normal wear and tear items, nail pops and full replacement of a 10 year old microwave for a broken handle. 10 years is nearing its service life. My wife has tried to contact them numerous times via their email portal and phone call and received no response. When she did receive a reply it was to threaten collections. If this is how they treat previous tenants... We asked for detailed billing and adjustments and Megan Roley with management went radio silence and ignored further communications. My son paid the bill under duress, threat of collections. Would highly not recommend this company. Terrible.

I stay at one of their student housing properties in South Georgia, and I have had the worst apartment and roomate experience of my life. They roomed me with someone who would leave bags of trash around the house and outside, cauing all of the roomates to get a $25 charge several times throughout our stay, even though 3/4 roomates said that it was not our trash and was the other girl's. This same roomate would often have physical fights with her boyfriend giving me and other roomates no other option but to call the police, leaving us feeling very unsafe with a 300lb, 6'4 angry football player in the apartment who has no problem putting his hands on women. This same roomate also caused a roach and grain mite infestation that the apartment will not fix. An exterminator was called, and he sprayed for termites instead of grain mites leaving the infestation to worsen. He also pulled back the fridge, found roaches and eggs back there, so he sprayed and told me the resident, to let it sit and when 30 mins past, for to sweep and push the fridge back. There is visible water da,age to teh ceiling on the 3rd floor, the ceiling fan has not been cleaned in years, and there is a structural crack in the foundation that is supposed to be holding up the 3rd floor. I have spoke to management and corporate and no one has answers, and my rent has increased $90 while all of these problems still go on. In the photos, the little white dots you see on some of the items are grain mites, they're in the food packaging, the fridge seals, on the pantry, walls, broom stick handle, counter tops, microwave, you name, it's infested.

The company stands for nothing definitely not their word. Avoid Redpoint Tuscaloosa like Covid!! You can contact them over and over again. They will not contact you back. Moved into one of their properties and it was filthy upon move in. Contacted management, they never fixed the issues. The furniture was broken torn and it smelled like animals the entire year even though I didn’t have any. My son’s room flooded three times due to their plumbing and his stuff was ruined. I asked them to replace his carpet. Conveniently when he moved out they charged me a fee for carpet replacement for the same carpet i I asked them to replace which they never did. They said he didn’t use the toilet properly. How to you properly dispose of bodily wastes. My other son’s room flooded and he was without electricity for over a week and they said oh we have to get a certified electrician while running extension cords to his room. The front door to the apartment didn’t have a lock on it even though it was reported numerous times. They had issues with the dish washer that didn’t work. The a/c stays out in 100 Deere weather and they don’t even bring a fan. I can go on and on. The biggest complaint for me is the move out fee for this carpet that was clearly a maintenance issue. I will not stop until they stop and correct their practices. I have contacted the BBB, the attorney general and if it has to go to court. Then right is right.
