Overall, my Northgate Lakes apartment experience was horrific for the year that I was there. I wish I could rate them 0/5 stars. I lived there August 2025-July 2026, and I wished I didn’t. In that span of time (12 months), my AC broke, my water didn’t get hot, I had roaches in my apartment (I am a clean freak and still had 8+ roaches I had to kill), they sawed open my shower wall to try and fix the hot water issue and never painted over the putty, the vents were moldy, and the apartment itself was tiny and cramped. A pipe burst in the apartment above mine and flooded my entire apartment. I woke up to gushing water from the vents at 7:00 am one morning, and had to move ALL of my belongings into a new unit that day because there was so much water it was unsalvageable. After that happened, Northgate Lakes plugged in power fans to fan out the old apartment. Our utility bill SKYROCKETED that month, being the highest utility bill we ever saw, in February. We asked for it to be lowered, because we knew the cost was from the water that flooded out of the pipe and the power fans making electric twice as expensive as normal. However, Northgate Lakes gave us a mere reduction of about $15 per person. THEN, when we asked for a reduction in our rent for that month (any amount of money they would decide, we weren’t picky), Northgate Lakes claimed to have waived a $300 transfer fee, for having to move to a new apartment. Mind you, our apartment flooded, I had to call 911 because the apartment’s emergency maintenance line didn’t work, and water was flooding onto electrical outlets. Management is rude, unhelpful, and will try to scam you in any way they can. I paid $975 a month base rent (not including utilities or the required damage waivers program for $15 a month), for a 4x2 apartment that was built in 1998, is cramped, has full sized beds, and does not even have walk in closets. I now live at The Station for the SAME PRICE ($975 a month base rent) in a 4x4 with a queen sized bed, bigger/more spacious rooms, a bigger common space, a laundry ROOM rather than closet, my own bathroom, two stories, a walk in closet, valet trash, a bigger gym, bigger pool, nicer clubhouse, and more amenities (pool table, study booths, study rooms, the list goes on). All of that at The Station for the same price as I was paying at Northgate. Northgate Lakes will drop their 4x2 price to $750 a month. It’s not worth that much, let alone a dime more. Don’t live here. There are much better places around for the same price, and places that won’t try and charge you for your apartment flooding. Photos included are of the flooding apartment how I woke up to it that morning. Also, the sawed open bathroom wall that they never finished painting over/repairing in my 2nd apartment we moved into in February.

Honestly, it’s not ideal but compared to a lot of other places it’s pretty good. Kinda overpriced tho and a little scummy when it comes to pricing specifically as well Gym has been closed for more than a year now with promises of it opening… a year ago… Maintenance is pretty quick to respond and there have been no (live) roaches in my unit god bless. Parking is cheap

Overall, worst housing situation I've ever had, and I only lived there from the end of May 2026 to today, July 31, 2026. I paid almost $1100 before utilities each month of my sublease. When I moved in, my initial thought was what did I get myself into. It reeked of weed, there was mold on the bathroom ceiling, the front door is a tetanus shot waiting to happen, and there is a general layer of grime to everything, not to mention a fridge full of moldy food when I moved in for my sublease. I went to the front office several times and it got to a point where they made ME feel like I was a neat freak because I took issue with the smells, mold, grime, and bizarre roommates. It gives off motel 6 vibes, but not the good kind, the bad kind. Do yourself a favor, find somewhere else to live. If you like paying a lot of money for a crumby place that's dirty, this is the place for you. I'm in law school but I lived in a frat house for two years in college, this was worse than the frat house.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! MOLD INFESTED!!! After being moved into an extremely well unkempt apartment upon move-in May 11th and now having to deal with a new leak after being transferred, I cannot say I will ever recommend living here to anyone else. Management is extremely difficult to get a hold of, and after being told that a member of staff would stay to help me get my keys 5 minutes after closing only to be met with no one in the office, the last few weeks living here have been nothing short of a disaster. I needed to stay in a hotel overnight TWICE because of the incompetencies of this complex.

Absolutely insane amount of hidden fees. Corporate response is that these fees are handled by their 'third-party services'. Do keep this in mind when budgeting your stay.
