As stated in other reviews… My son resided at Village at Science Drive for 2 years and upon move out we did a thorough cleaning of the entire unit and of his room and bathroom and took extensive pictures of the unit upon vacating. A few weeks after moving out we received a bill for damages and when I responded to the damage claim and asked for proof I eventually received an email from their resident account specialist with the supposed evidence of the damages that they were claiming. This supposed damage was for a shower rod replacement however in the picture the shower rod was installed at an angle and the bathtub was dirtier and the stains in the grout were completely different than my sons bathroom. With just a little bit of common sense and investigation Re’Nee could easily see that this picture wasn’t the correct bathroom however it was of a completely different bathroom than my sons bathroom and you can see that my sons bathroom was much cleaner and the shower rod was installed perfectly straight in comparison to the picture she provided. The other claim of damage was from a wall patch that I’m pretty sure existed upon move in it was not even the correct bedroom and I provided multiple pictures of my sons room where you can see that the damage she claimed did not exist in his room. The same thing applies as others have stated where they state the charges will stand. I refuse to stand down on principal and will continue to fight this and hire an attorney if I have to so that this does not continue to happen to others. I have been a property manager for over 20 years managing hundreds of residences and take my responsibility of deposit and damage claims extremely serious and do a thorough job so that any claims I make are legitimate. This particular complex gives good property managers a bad name and the stigma that surrounds our business and I will not stand for it. Make sure to document every single item in the unit upon move in and move out so that you can protect yourself from erroneous claims. The complex should be documenting the condition upon move-in with at least pictures of the condition so that they have proof of the condition of the unit prior to occupancy but after conversation with their customer support manager it appears that they do not have pictures as proof of condition prior to occupancy. The burden of proof lies in the hands of the complex and if you are faced with this issue like I have seen many others complain about then you should stand up against them in court and demand the proof of condition prior to occupancy and without that proof you will win. Being a property manager I am accustomed to the burden of proof and have been to court several times in defense of claims our company has made against a deposit and I am happy to say that we have won 100% of the time due to our practice of fully documenting a properties condition upon move-in and move-out so that there is no question on how things were before and how they are now. I will add that my conversation with Sheila at their customer service was very professional and pleasant and she has escalated my complaints to the superiors of Re’Nee as requested and I am pleased with my interaction with her overall. I am hopeful that we can get this issue resolved but I warn potential tenants of the practices of this complex, which unfortunately seems to be very common by reading others reviews. Govern yourselves accordingly.

It was a lot of fun being able to tour where I’ll be moving into!! Our tour guide was lleana and she was very informative and was really helpful with showing me where everything was. For her second time touring the place, you definitely couldn’t tell. I also really appreciated the snacks and drinks available on the tour!!

Julia L. gave me and my friends an awesome tour of the facilities. She had answers to all of our questions, and we are most likely signing tonight! The rooms are beautiful, and the price is reasonable. Thank you!

maintenance half does everything. pest control is extremely unreliable. lack of proper management and responsibility with the complex’s staff made them spray ONLY in my common area, diverting the already complained about pests to enter my bedroom after I just complained about seeing them here. told them they didn’t spray everything, was gaslighted that they did even though i saw no sign of disturbance in my room whatsoever. even when bringing up the issue, I was originally blamed and told I didn’t specify it with the lady i spoke with over the phone, M, even though she clearly specified and restated back to me that my bed space would be taken care of considering i started seeing ants in my bed. now having to wait ANOTHER week with this issue because they lacked on their end, without any solution of sooner resolve.

This place is honestly a scam. I feel like I was completely catfished! A few months ago I noticed black mold and told maintenance. They told me it was “just dirt” even though it was clearly mold. Their fix was to spray bleach and paint over it. A few weeks later the mold came right back and they repeated the same thing. It’s honestly a joke. There was also mysterious leaking in the living room and their solution was to bring in a big loud fan that ran nonstop for three days and did not investigate the issue further. There is also no communication between the maintenance team and the office so whenever you try to follow up on an issue nobody seems to know what’s going on. It’s sad how little they seem to care about proper maintenance or their residents. Management doesn’t take these problems seriously and it really shows. I’m extremely disappointed with my experience here and counting down the days until my lease ends. Don’t be fooled by the nice tour. There are so many hidden problems they obviously ignore, passing them from one resident to the next. You’ll end up dealing with years worth of neglected issues on your own while paying $1,000+ in rent :)
