i moved into renaissance with my family just over a half a year ago and i couldn’t be happier with our decision to live here. the office team, ashley and joanna, are so kind and understanding and have been nothing short of amazing! i’ve only had a small maintenance issue and they responded quickly and were so efficient and kind! and the landscaping?! stunning. the pool area is also like having our own resort! it’s so beautiful! i love the resident events they have, it really makes renaissance feel like home, not just an apartment complex. thanks for everything!

The Renaissance at Norman staff, specifically Ashley and Joanna were amazing. Both were so supportive while I was moving. They both showed me several different apartment styles and obviously listened to my needs. This place has a secure dog park with dog bags and garbage pails everywhere around the property. They also provide little dog baggies in the office, such a dog friendly complex. The property is well lit and has numerous walking paths. They have a great maintenance staff because everything is clean and tidy. The community is gated. It’s stress free knowing you have a great management team that keeps your home safe. Thank you R of N Ashley and Joanna.

I am a new college student attending OU here in Norman and The Renaissance at Norman has made not only my college experience to be more memorable and enjoyable, but my home living has made me feel at peace with how little chaos arises at The Renaissance at Norman. Out of the huge list of things that have been done in my favor to make my stay admirable, Ashley the manager has done everything she can to make sure I am comfortable in my apartment. Such as making sure my maintenance needs are covered, and introducing me to the many activities there is to do at The Renaissance at Norman. The scenery is just absolutely GORGEOUS, and always looks clean and up to date. I could NOT be more impressed and comfortable with my stay here at Renaissance.

Don’t listen to anything other than the amazing reviews about Renaissance at Norman! This place is absolutely incredible. The grounds are so well maintained, the office team is fantastic and the maintenance team is always a pleasure to interact with. I have nothing but great things to say about here! They’re so communicative and keep the community updated on everything.

I lived at the Renaissance at Norman Apartments for nearly three years, and my fiancé joined me in May 2024. Overall, we had a very positive experience living here. The maintenance team was consistently responsive and helpful, including for after-hours requests, and the shared facilities ($15/month fee) were always clean and well-maintained. A special thank you to Craig and Aaron from maintenance—they were wonderful to work with! Like any community, there are a few areas where we feel improvements could be made, particularly around communication and follow-through. I’m sharing these in the hope that they’re helpful for both future residents and management: 1. Move-out process and security deposit expectations One area that caught us off guard was the move-out process. During our inspection, we were told everything looked great aside from the oven/stove needing a bit more cleaning, which we spent significant time addressing. However, when we received our itemized statement, more than half of our security deposit had been deducted—primarily due to standard cleaning fees and final utilities. While utility charges were expected, the extent of the cleaning fees was not clearly communicated to us beforehand. It would be helpful if these expectations were more explicitly outlined so residents can plan accordingly. 2. Dog park cleanliness and maintenance Management regularly communicated expectations around picking up after pets, which we appreciated. However, it seemed that enforcement was limited, and the dog park was often not as clean as it could be. This made it less enjoyable to use and raised some concerns about pet health. Additionally, clearer communication or temporary closure during lawn treatments would be helpful for pet safety. 3. Speeding within the complex We occasionally observed drivers exceeding the posted speed limit, which could pose a safety concern for residents, pets, and children. Additional signage or traffic-calming measures might help reinforce safe driving practices. 4. Handicap parking compliance At times, handicap parking spaces were used improperly. While reminders were sent out, stronger enforcement could help ensure these spaces remain available for those who need them. 5. Inspection scheduling and notice There were a few instances where inspection notices were given with limited advance warning or were rescheduled on short notice after we had already adjusted our schedules. This was especially challenging with a pet in the home. More consistent communication and notice would be appreciated. 6. Short-term lease pricing While short-term leasing is typically going to cost more at any place, we were shocked at how much ours increased to renew for a 12-month lease after having to do an 8-month lease due to circumstances out of our control after being good tenants for just short of 3 years. This was one key factor in our decision to move. 7. Follow-through on communicated actions There were a few instances where management shared plans or solutions but did not consistently follow through. For example, we were told the gym door leading to the bathroom would be kept unlocked after hours so residents using the pool could access a restroom, but this was not always the case. Similarly, we were informed that additional speed limit signage would be installed, which we did not end up seeing. There was also a delay in addressing a wasp issue after we were told pest control would be contacted. While we understand that timing and logistics can vary, more consistent follow-through or updates would help build trust and improve the overall resident experience. Overall, we truly enjoyed our time living here and appreciated the responsiveness of the maintenance team and the quality of the community. We will miss our apartment greatly. With a few improvements in communication and policy clarity, this could be an even better place to live. I hope this review is helpful to future residents!
