Monarch Heights Apartments, new-york-city-ny

My daughter lives here and recently had no heat in the cold for 5 days. I have called the building numerous times. She woke up shivering. She got sick. No one from the building had bothered to call me back. No one called to apologize. The actual super is very sweet and he cares and he brought her a space heater. The front desk is also well staffed. But the management of the building is unprofessional, uncaring, greedy, unresponsive and liars. I would find another place to house your college or grad student. Also: the monarch is expensive. And as a parent you don’t get even the tiniest bit of service or decency for the lease you sign. The owner just posted a response that is a lie. It took 5 days for someone to respond to my daughter and get her a space heater.!!!!! No one has called me back despite my perisitent calls. And they have since fired the superintendent. I am stunned at their bald face lying!!! I am now further motivated to contact an attorney. All I wanted was someone from the building to call me back, make sure my daughter was warm, and perhaps offer a small rebate on the next month - which is what we are legally entitled to. Again: I called the building 5-6x and the owners of the monarch. I never ever heard back. Their response here is a lie.

I’ve had a really positive experience at Monarch Heights. The building is clean, well-maintained, and has a very welcoming atmosphere. I also want to give a special shoutout to the property manager — she is always professional, responsive, and genuinely helpful. It’s clear they care about the residents and keeping everything running smoothly. I would definitely recommend Monarch Heights to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-managed place to live in!

As an international student, I was nervous about finding housing, but it turned out to be nice. The staff made move-in so easy and are always kind whenever I need help. The building feels safe with the access card & It’s also great being so close to Columbia. I can walk to class in a few mins.

Great experience at Monarch Heights Apartments! The community is beautiful and well maintained. Shinnea is doing an amazing job, she’s always helpful, professional, and truly cares about the residents. We really appreciate her!

I live on the 12th floor, and I’m very disappointed with how this building’s management has handled my situation. When I first moved in, I filled out a survey that asked whether I smoke and whether I prefer roommates who smoke. I answered “No” to both, since my family has a history of lung-related conditions and I am very sensitive to air quality. However, after moving in, I discovered that my roommate smokes cigarettes and even marijuana inside the unit. I reported this issue to the front desk several times — around three times — but nothing has improved. In fact, the problem seems to have gotten worse. The staff always tells me, “We’ll remind them,” but it hasn’t changed anything. I feel uncomfortable and disappointed, and I don’t recommend this building based on my experience.
