Extremely expensive for the experience had. Rooms are tiny. Kitchens are disgusting. Tap water in the kitchen has a rancid smell which I inquired about. Most of the staff were friendly, however I had some interactions that I found point blank rude. Roaches and centipedes are quite common with no help from staff in removal or fears of more being there. Bathrooms were generally clean, however showers varied. The fridge was absolutely disgusting as well. Don’t get me started on the construction at 6am. After a 12 hour shift the night before the last thing anyone wants to hear is hammers and drills right outside their window. They may as well have been in our room. Laundry services are paid for separately and they don’t take international cards. (The staff were not helpful at all with guiding us in finding an alternative way to pay for laundry). Security are unnecessarily strict. The only thing good about this residence is the location. Was accessible to subways etc. In conclusion, wouldn’t recommend this.

Strengths: very safe with wonderful security guards, convenient location, still expensive but fair price for NYC, communal spaces are nearly cleaned daily. Free and unlimited gym class and great facilities. Weaknesses: experience very much depends on the residential community, where communal spaces are often not well maintained and can be very nasty. Tip: bring your own comforter when NYC's weather can fluctuate significantly.

Had a great experience living here and am grateful I had the opportunity to! Excellent location on the Upper East Side--a short walk away from Central Park, many art museums, and the 86th Street subway station. Felt very safe. One amazing perk is that you can attend events in the building (including talks by high-profile writers, artists, etc.) for a discount. Gym access is included in rent. A cool way to meet people and make friends, as the residence is very international.

If you’re in a housing bind, this place is a workable temporary fix, but it’s far from a sustainable living situation. The building provides security, a gym, a flexible month-to-month lease, on-site laundry, and a prime location near Central Park. Thus, while it has its conveniences, the downsides quickly add up—guests come with extra fees, the living situation feels like a cramped college dorm, and the move-out process feels rushed and challenging. On top of that, the communal fridge is always overcrowded and barely functional. Thus, for the price, finding a roommate and securing a more stable housing option makes more sense.

I would highly recommend the 92NY residence. The staff and security were incredibly helpful and friendly during my entire stay. Rooms are comfortable, and both the bathroom and kitchen are cleaned frequently. You are in a great location in the Upper East Side. Also nice to have access to the gym and discounted 92NY events. My stay was excellent thanks to the residence staff who were always of great assistance when needed.
