I rented a two bedroom apartment at this complex for two years with my sister from the end of August 2024 through July 2026. This was the very first apartment I have ever lived in since moving out from home and coming to Mount Pleasant for class at CMU and it was a horrible experience. I cannot recommend this apartment whatsoever, especially to those who are inexperienced renters such as myself. Throughout our time living at the reserve, we had multiple situations where we needed to contact the resident team for assistance and were unable to reach anyone. I personally had Interactions with members of maintenance, which made me feel uncomfortable, and the management team is horrible with communication in what seems like every situation. We just moved out about a month ago now and the reserve Charged our account several hundred dollars in damage fees and cleaning charges which were unnecessary and should not have been there. According to the move out information email we received multiple times leading up to the end of our lease we should have only received Any of These types of charges, if the damage was beyond normal wear and tear or if masses were left behind which required professional cleaning. That being said, the things we were charged for included, but we’re not limited to a bag of trash left outside our apartment door, which did not belong to us, a broken outlet, which had been there since the day we moved in, And $500 to replace the couch in our apartment which was not brand new when we moved in and far from being damaged beyond use. Also to add when we moved into this apartment, the floors were so dirty that our feet turned black after walking on the carpeting and my dad spent the night with us less than a week after moving in and refused to sleep on the couch or take his shoes off because of how gross it was in there. When I brought these issues up to the management team, I was told that we should’ve been provided with a move-in checklist to fill out when we first came to the reserve however we were never provided with such a thing and when I went through all the documentation in the resident portal, I found no record of it and none of the management team I have spoken to are able to find it on their end As well. I would like to think that if we were provided with this document that they would have had it on file, but we were not provided with it and they cannot prove that they didn’t give that to us so they are charging us as this is our fault, even though we firmly believe it is not. After several emails, we’ve decided just to pay the amount we were charged to avoid having it put into collections, but needless to say we are both very disappointed and would not recommend this apartment to anyone looking for somewhere to live in Mount Pleasant. I will attach a screenshot of the email which states the circumstances of which we should have been charged after moving out. I guarantee anyone else moving out of the reserve has or will receive the same email and likely will still face the same experience that I did with my sister, unfortunately. I had really hoped for a better experience living here than what I received, and this was a very disappointing outcome.

Filthy. First year I moved in there was puke on the door and pee all over the bathroom. Filthy carpet and mattress with damage. All reported numerous times. Charged for these things. Not paid for my cleaning. I figured this was a freak situation, but the next year, I was charged for a chair that was damaged before I ever moved in. The guy who lived there before I moved in reported it over and over. Never replaced. It was damaged when he moved in the year before! Beware of poor conditions, crumbling stairs, and astronomical charges for things that were reported from day one. You are not safeguarded with move in reports nor emails nor visits to the office, apparently.

I am a new resident of this apartment, haven't even moved in yet and im already facing issues with the management. It is nearly impossible to communicate with someone. I am currently outside US, and they barely reply back on email. I am having so many issues with my move-in date. My flight is landing on Saturday and the office will be closed to pick my keys up and they won't let my guarantor pick up my keys. They can be responsible for paying the fee if we can't but can't pick the keys on our behalf and just a day before. They have all the information of our guarantors and still so many issues. On top of that they are not even giving any solution what to do about it. I have no space to live for two nights and I have school on Monday. My flight was originally on Friday but it got delayed and there is nothing I can do about it. This is so stressful for me and Reserve is being utterly ridiculous right now.

We were lead to believe we could get a 2 bedroom with 4 people (I'm married and the other 2 have been a couple for a while). Now they want us to be one room per person knowing we're married and I have a disability. They do not Infact work with everyone. Avoid applying. They lie to get you to pay the 300 and drop that on you last minute.

I was very interested in living here but it’s impossible to talk to an actual human. I wanted to set up a tour time that worked for me and not just robot Aria. I got one email for a human and she never answered again. I’ve called and no one answered the phone. Robot Aria said someone would contact me multiple times, I’ve tried to get ahold of a human for over a week now. I’ll be looking at other options now. Extremely frustrating. Update- I FINALLY got to talk to someone after I called again.
