Venue at Dinkytown, minneapolis-mn

I've lived at the Venue for 3 years, and the staff/management are by far the highlight of my experience. Maintenance and packages are always incredibly timely. Personally, I only have very good things to say about management. There have been efforts to make Dinky safer, but this may make driving around in the evenings/night on weekends inconvenient. I'm quite sensitive to noise, so if your unit is lower and overlooks the streets, it can be louder during the warmer months, especially on weekends. Find a higher floor unit if that affects you. Overall, for the price, the people, and its proximity to campus, I really enjoyed my time at the Venue during university.

Our son lives at the Venue. As a parent, I have been very happy with how fast and friendly the office members respond. Kasha is so very helpful with a parent’s questions! She is a great source of information. The secure underground parking is great. I would recommend the Venue!

Do you have a daughter at the U of M? If you do, safety is probably your number one housing concern. Having spent seven years at the U myself and having had kids there for the last 14 years, I had a very good idea of what I wanted for my daughter housing. We have found the Venue to exceed our expectations in terms of safety, value, cleanliness and customer service. Our daughter is now preparing to sign for her fourth year. I couldn't be happier. She is a block and half from campus, has very secure under ground garage, and a modern well furnished apartment. The minute you walk in you will notice how clean and well-manged the property is. You are also likely to be approached by a staff member if they don't recognize you as a resident. I was thrilled when Samantha the property manager approached me when I was helping my daughter's roommate jump her car in the garage. She didn't see a resident with me and took the time to investigate what I was doing. Most people would have ignored it. I appreciate this kind of attention when it comes to safety. Details matter. If you are looking for a clean, safe, well-managed place for your son or daughter, talk to the folks at the Venue. I know you will be happy.

It’s overall really nice living here. Move in day was great, our unit seemed professionally cleaned and was ready on time. Hallways and trash rooms are always well kept. Maintence is very responsive - fixed our microwave in less than an hour. There’s a few cons though - the walls are pretty thin - I can hear the unit behind me at night sometimes. Quite noisy location as well but that isn’t the buildings fault. I also wish the elevators were faster. Management is really good! Very friendly and on top of things. Building is also pretty light on amenities compared to the competition and I wish the office was open on weekends. The gym is also missing some equipment and is quite small. In short though, I would say I’m happy with the price I’m paying and would choose to live here again, but there’s def some room for improvement.

I will never forget the Venue at Dinkytown and I am so glad I signed here after freshman year. The staff are always so friendly and willing to help with anything, maintenance is always quickly responded to, and the atmosphere is always uplifting and happy. Not only all of those things, but the building is always clean and they provide a great gym and lots of study spots. I re-signed here for a second year because I don't want to leave. Highly, HIGHLY recommend!!!
