I DO NOT recommend living here. I lived here Aug 2023 to Aug 2024 and these were the main issues I noticed: 1. This building is incredibly inaccessible considering that there is only 1 elevator that is extremely old/slow and breaks down all the time. The elevator would be broken for days before management would send somebody out to fix it, only for it to break down again shortly after. I’ll also add that somebody threw up in there the day after Mifflin (April) and the elevator was never thoroughly cleaned so it smelled like vomit until the day I moved out 😍 2. There are only 3 washers and 3 dryers for the whole building. The whole time I lived there at least a couple of the machines were broken making it difficult to even get laundry done. The dryers don’t even dry your clothes properly. 3. Bugs 🐜. During the summer we began to notice a lot of bugs in our apartment, even though we always kept the place clean. No matter how much we cleaned, they kept coming back. 4. Thieves live here!! I had clothes stolen from the laundry room and I know I was not the only one. My roommate had packages stolen, so we stopped shipping things here in fear that they would get stolen. 5. The kitchen in the apartment is small. I made the mistake of not touring this place before signing and just based it off the photos on their website. The photos are misleading. The kitchen is extremely cramped with no surfaces to dry dishes or even chop a vegetable. 6. Miscellaneous: Fire alarms go off often due to the cramped kitchen with zero ventilation. This becomes annoying when you have to stand outside in freezing weather. The locks were difficult to open and the handle on the back door was about to fall off. “Amenities” are useless. The fitness room is small, dirty, and has no good equipment. The one time I tried to use the computer lab the computers did not work and the printer had no paper. The building would leak when it rained too. Clearly other people also had bad experiences as they would constantly post notes around the building. I have attached a couple. You can find better housing at the same price. Do not settle for The Highlander.

What I like: Staffs are helpful Good sound insulation( except the doors) Everything is well maintained and clean. Position is perfect Bedroom is just the right size for me. Cheap. What I don’t like is mostly due to the design of the apartment, but I really hope I knew it before I moved in: Stove is RIGHT BEHIND THE DOOR. The kitchen is way too small. No any place for cutting. Garbage truck comes pretty early in the morning (8 am), which is supper noisy and annoying. No lock in the bathroom No vent in the bathroom (there’s probably a very small one, but we have no control to it) If anybody send a package to this apartment, it’s very easy to be stolen. Fortunately you could send the package to StevenBrown’s office. Elevator is very slow.

I loved living here for the last two years! A perfect location and so much character. The building is older compared to the “luxury” apartments being built however everything functions perfectly and management is very quick to respond to any messages. A great company to rent from and would rent from in the future and would recommend to anyone looking to rent.

I lived in this apartment complex from August 2023 to May 2024, and it was one of the worst living experiences I've ever had. For a company that owns properties like Lucky, the standards here are shockingly low. Cons: - The elevator broke down almost every two weeks, which was incredibly inconvenient. Poor. They have a 30 old elevator still running in their apartment. This elevator is incredibly slow too. - The fitness and computer centers were barely usable and seemed more like placeholders than real amenities. - Although you get a personal room, the shared spaces are extremely cramped, with the kitchen and living area totaling barely 20 sq. ft. - Out of three washers and three dryers, most were often broken. Even when they worked, the dryers didn’t properly dry clothes. - Wi-Fi only works in your room, meaning you can’t study or work in the living area—rendering it nearly useless. - It’s almost 40 minutes away from campus, with inconsistent bus routes and in a remote area. - All the photos they have added on their site don’t reflect the reality of how the apartment actually look. Don’t get fooled by them. Pros: - Literally none I paid $790 per month, and even if the rent were reduced, I wouldn’t consider living here again. For anyone looking into this complex: STAY AWAY. You'll likely find a much better experience elsewhere.I would suggest looking for a house but don’t even consider living here. It’s not worth it.

Living at the Highlander was a great experience for me. The unit may be a bit older, but who doesn't love vintage? The Maintenance and Management team was nothing short of amazing. If there was ever an issue, they were both quick to respond and fix it.
