Apple Lane Apartments, lawrence-ks

Overall a really great place! I moved in my freshman year of college and lived here all 4 years. The renovated units were a much needed improvement. I really liked the kitchen, the appliances were nice. Some units have bigger fridges than others, not sure why. The bathroom was fine but it seems like maybe most units don't have a drain stopper so I never took a bath, only showers. It worked for my lifestyle though. I really liked that I could submit maintenance requests and pay through the Resident Portal App. It was also nice that they set up all utilities, wifi, and other fees like trash to be included. So in the app I see rent, utilities, communications, and whatever fees I have selected to be added like renters insurance or credit lift. It was so great that I didn't have to set up my own service through MIDCO or Evergy. I also didn't have to worry about paying them. I just paid Apple Lane (now Orchard Corners Studios). I wasn't a fan of community laundry but it was reliable. It cost about $2 for one washing machine and $2 for one drying machine. My only other issue is just that I think the price is too high given how small the space is and the lackluster amenities. You can expect to pay about $900 a month total. The pool is small. The fitness center is even smaller and has very little equipment. 3 people in the space was a very tight uncomfortable squeeze. Regardless though my apartment was nice. Living by myself was great. I had everything I needed including easy access to campus buses. I never bought a parking pass at KU. Maintenance was usually very quick but I also didn't need to put in tons of requests. I think this is a great place to live and definitely allowed my to succeed in college with less stress. I have lots of memories of this place that I will always cherish : )

The wooooorst spider infestation. They did have insect removal but it never really helped. Asked maintenance several times for really basic things (a drain that would plug so I could run a bath?) and never got the issue resolved. I gave up eventually. Really affordable for a studio. It feels more like a one bedroom! Laundry is on-site with an app that you can pay with, parking is easy and there are plenty of spots, & it's right next to the KU bus route (idk what number) There's an "accessible" parking spot in front of my old building that isn't really accessible because there's a curb and no ramps by it? I always thought that was really odd.

Love the newly remodeled apartments! Great parking and close to campus.
