Campus 880, isla-vista-cal

Gym has inconsistent closing times. Supposedly closes at 10PM but there’s been multiple occasions it closed at 8PM or earlier. I tried to contact management about this and got ignored. WiFi doesn’t work very well. Stove hasn’t worked since I moved in.

I have really enjoyed my time as a tenant at Campus 880 so far. Dominic and Madison have done a great job at making this place feel like home. There have been events held that make this place really feel like a community. I was assigned housemates that are very similar to me and so my living situation has been great this year. If you are looking for a place where you can easily make friends, but also want to feel like you're at home, I definitely recommend this place. The staff is amazing and the units are very spacious. This is a great place to stay in IV!

I've been paying for a single all year and it doesnt even come with a door, instead a curtain that doesn't even block the entire view. On top of this they gave me a 1 centimeter thick sheet of wood as one of the walls that doesn't even cover the entire area so there are gaps. It also blocks no noise at all as i can hear anything going on anywhere in the apartment. The tiny wood sheet that acts as a wall will completely detach from the wall if I put any of my weight on it. The washing machines here are absolutely terrible and half of them are out of order each time I even try to do laundry. In the first half of the year the buildings had a terrible mice problem that was just gross. But the social aspect of this place is fun.

Campus 880 has a long history of keeping security deposits for erroneous reasons. They will NOT maintain the apartment, yet will try to hold you liable for it when you move out. This is an ongoing pattern that will drive you to the brink of madness. DO NOT RENT HERE. And if they've done this to you, not refunding your security deposit, please stay the course and sue them in small claims court. You will never get resolution with them in person. Campus 880 has no soul.

I absolutely recommend you do NOT rent from Campus 880 or anything else St George and Associates are associated with. Maintenance issues are ignored and communication is poor. THEY WILL NOT GIVE SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK IN FULL, despite their non-compliance with California law. I know housing is difficult to find in Santa Barbara, but you will regret every minute dealing with these people.
