Midtown Sam Houston Apartments, huntsville-tx

I am very happy living here. The maintenance service is very fast and excellent; I haven't experienced any issues with bugs at all (I live on the 3rd floor, so I can't speak for the lower floors). The apartment itself is beautiful—spacious and filled with natural light—and overall, I am extremely pleased with the size of the unit, particularly the kitchen.

Coming from the Connections to Midtown was like a breath of fresh air! I enjoyed my time living at Midtown this entire last year I had at Sam Houston, when I first arrived to the apartments they were extremely clean and the process was quick and orderly, quite literally had zero issues! Maintenance is freaking awesome, I cannot say anything else other than they were quick, they fixed every problem or issue needed effectively and efficiently! The front desk staff and apartment manager answered every question and always were reassuring and helpful. They made my sublet process extremely easy and seamless as well! These apartments overall were so awesome, I have zero complaints!!!!

We moved our youngest into Midtown this past August and I have to say, I am impressed so far. The manager went above and beyond to make sure my daughter was able to move in a couple of days early due to a scheduling conflict. Everything that she has called maintenance for has been fixed within 24 hours. The complex is clean and well maintained. It seems very safe so far. The roommate matching app helped her find a roommate that fits her. As of right now, we fully intend on renewing her lease until she is done at SHSU.

The pool here has been filthy for the last six weeks. I’ve complained 3 separate times and it’s still disgusting. The most recent time I told the employee to give her higher up my phone number because I would like to speak to them and I haven’t heard anything. The best they’ve done is “shock” the pool with the chemicals, but that doesn’t do anything for the algae growing on the walls. Gate was also broken for a month. This place hides stuff in your 90 page lease about automatically enrolling you in renters insurance and RentPlus. You had to unenroll yourself for both and the RentPlus website was conveniently not working around the deadline. When i spoke to midtown staff about it, they state they can’t remove the charge and it needs to be down through RentPlus despite their website not working. Midtown uses resident portal, an app, for a professional business. . . . that cannot be logged into via web browser. Last week someone’s car got broken into. You can tell this facility is run by 20 something year olds with a higher up living out of state, or just not caring about the facility. They also text us to review this place so I would take some reviews with a grain of salt

This has been my first year living at midtown and it was been pretty enjoyable. Staff are friendly. I wish the gym equipment was updated (the treadmills in particular sometimes have to be restarted to work) and that the amenity hours were back to 24 hours, like they used to be! But otherwise, community is good, sometimes loud parties but the courtesy officer is usually good about alleviating those issues. 2 bedroom apartment is great and well laid out to maximize storage which is a must!
