I lived at the Village for over 3 years, the place is actually horrible. We had holes in our walls and ceilings due to the landlords doing pipework and they left the holes for months after they were done. Rent keeps getting raised at a rapid rate, I was paying 380 when I first moved here into a 4 bedroom, now I am paying over 500 per month for the same room. If that isn’t enough for you, the managers are very condescending and talk down to you if you bring a legitimate complaint to their attention. Lastly, if you still truly want to come here, get things in writing from the managers or staff. I talked to them months ago about changing rooms and now they deny that conversation happening. Seriously, get things in writing because they are very scummy and will try underhanded tactics to get more money out of you.

Hey Friends! I had to write a review about the Villages on 6th and our experience here. From the start, moving our son in was easy, and carefree. He was a student at Marshall University. The rooms were spacious and very close to campus. We did have an issue with some repairs / maintenance that were being made throughout the community - BUT when I needed to communicate, I spoke with Ms. Jamie and Ms. Chelsea and they both were AMAZING!! VERY responsive, honest, compassionate and took our concerns seriously. As a mom, that is HUGE for me knowing that where my son lived had two people that really cared about his experience. If you are a parent considering the villages on 6th for your college student, I highly recommend. Follow the rules, be kind and you will have a great experience! Thanks Ms. Jaimie and Ms. Chelsea! WE APPRECIATE YOU GUYS! #theHutsons

The Village is a great place to stay. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. Any time I have had an issue with something needing fixed, it has been resolved quickly.

My experience here has been great! The staff is always very friendly and is always doing something fun and generous for their residence! Maintenance is always quick and on time for anything we need!

As long as you can get a lease set up to move in, then overall it is not half bad. However, getting a summer lease was next to impossible. For starters, I filled out an application and never heard back about availability. When I called, I was told that I would have to wait until June 1 to move in due to construction. A bit inconvenient, but at least I had a move-in date. However, I had to request a lease, and it turned out to be a fall lease; I called again requesting a summer lease for the specified dates, and after my dad and I cosigned it, they sent me a notice that it had been cancelled because they supposedly heard that I was no longer interested in living there (which I never said). So then, we had to resign the lease and hope for the best. Come move in day, the guy who usually works at the front desk seemed completely out of it as usual, but at least I received my keys and parking permit. When I moved in, I was actually impressed by my individual room, but also unimpressed with the fact that I had no working air conditioning and a toilet that did not properly flush. The provided furniture actually looks and feels really nice, but the rest of the unit is completely outdated. In terms of amenities, they provide almost anything you could ever want (the dishwasher and in-unit laundry are big bonuses) along with the pool and computer room, but the pool was empty and looked filthy for the whole moth of June, and while it was filled up for a few days, they emptied it again. While it is a great concept with many amenities, it is not well cared for, and many of the employees here could not care less about making a professional first impression. And let's not forget the fact that my money order payment for the first month was not properly processed, which I would have never known had I not gained access to the online portal. The bookkeeper was very unprofessional and did not seem interested in helping me. If you are able to get a lease and do not have super high expectations for your first apartment, then look no further! However, if you care about hospitality, professionalism, and satisfaction guaranteed, then look elsewhere!
