The Cottages of Hattiesburg, hattiesburg-ms

The Cottages has been a great experience and I plan on living here for the rest of my college career. The amenities that come with it and the customer service and maintenance response time adds a cherry on top. I highly recommend looking to live here.

I recently took a tour at The Cottages and loved it! It is so different from the other apartments around and unique as it is literally a gated neighborhood full of houses instead of apartments. The staff was so nice and helpful with all my questions, too.

Not an absolutely terrible experience until it was time to move out. They knew I moved out right after graduation and didn’t return for half of May, June, and July. The months I was not there, the water meter would mysteriously constantly run, which obviously ran up the water bill. The meter suddenly stopped running for a week or two after being contacted and then shocker it randomly started up again. A water bill that was typically 15-18$ with 3 girls living there, turned into over a 100$ bill, which is around 2000-3000 gallons used a DAY, crazy. Theeeennn, they tried to up charge me for “heavy cleaning” when I left the room clean and claimed a “softball sized” mark was left, which was incorrect. There was a circular scuff above the shower from where the shower curtain rod had been moved, which I did not do. They even sent pictures of a window sill with dust, trying to charge me. To make a long story short, if you choose to rent from the cottages, check your bill ledger and document EVERYTHING. They try to scam college students who don’t know the ins and outs of renting.

Was apartment hunting and got a tour. The staff were friendly, respectful and overall informative. I recommend if your looking for a great community to stay in this is it

I just love living here! No matter what problem you have the Cottages will make sure that it gets fixed. Maintenance is so quick to come to you when you have a problem and they are always so nice and efficient. Every time I walk into the clubhouse, I am always greeted by amazing staff who always have a smile on their faces. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!
