The District at West Market- Student Housing, greensboro-nc

I lived here since august 2025 and I would never recommend anyone to live here. The shower and sinks would randomly turn very hot and burn you. The first apartment they put us in had dead roaches until we asked for a different one. Hallways had drywall cut open with electrical wires hanging out.They never notified us about everything ever, I just came back from winter break and found that the building has been shut down by the city for being unsafe, I’m not surprised at all. They took the rent for January on January 4th when the building was shut down on December 16th. And before this we always had issues with them not accepting payments and charging us late payments. If you have the choice, never move here.

I love this place, but they are making it more expensive for the current tenants, and keep making it cheaper and cheaper for those who move in for the first time. This is a bad strategy as they will lose their loyal residents like me... My rent was 639, they made it 649 for the comming year and now they're offering the same room for 614 for new residents! That's more than 400$ difference in a year! I'm sorry district, I was really comfortable here but you are making me think that I need to find a way out! And I don' know how can I sublease my apartment when you're offering it for 35$ less!

Absolute trash - horrible office management that goes home whenever they feel like it, major (illegal) mail problems, disgusting amenities that get shut down and/or removed, AC goes out for weeks in summer (also illegal), bugs, paper thin walls, plumbing issues, maintenance rigging everything… don’t waste your money or time, they’re not renovating anything worthwhile. PS their pictures are old and/or photoshopped, the pool is literally green for the past few months. Scammers.

Go to any other apartment in Greensboro. Not only did I not have AC or running water for months resulting in health issues, they try to scam their residents. After I moved out they physically went in and changed my lease (which is very illegal) and withheld my security deposit for the month they claimed i didn’t pay. The staff is INCREDIBLY rude and unprofessional as well and every time I had an issue it took multiple calls and visits for them to even acknowledge that there was an issue. Not even fix anything, just to simply ACKNOWLEDGE IT. Apart from those issues, the building itself is disgusting. Nothing is kept up with and there is mold, leaks, holes in the walls, trash everywhere, the list goes on. Maintenance never does there jobs unless it’s for an apartment they are trying to rent out. They spent the last months of me living there putting in AC units that I only had for ONE SINGLE week of me living there even though it was included within my lease. Maintenance left nails and debris throughout the parking lot causing flat tires and me even stepping on a nail. The district is disgusting and scummy and I would advise anyone looking for apartments to look anywhere else. The rent is also overpriced for the gross studio they will give you. I am extremely angry at my experience there and I believe they should be shut down by the city.

Absolutely HORRID place to live. Nothing was up to code. Unresponsive maintenance and management. Building was condemned due to having the WORST and the MOST code violations in the entirety of Greensboro history. The management is as responsive as a brick wall for giving us our security deposits and rent back. I just hope that we get our repayment one way or another whether it's by choice or by force.
