The District at West Market- Student Housing, greensboro-nc

I lived here since august 2025 and I would never recommend anyone to live here. The shower and sinks would randomly turn very hot and burn you. The first apartment they put us in had dead roaches until we asked for a different one. Hallways had drywall cut open with electrical wires hanging out.They never notified us about everything ever, I just came back from winter break and found that the building has been shut down by the city for being unsafe, I’m not surprised at all. They took the rent for January on January 4th when the building was shut down on December 16th. And before this we always had issues with them not accepting payments and charging us late payments. If you have the choice, never move here.

I love this place, but they are making it more expensive for the current tenants, and keep making it cheaper and cheaper for those who move in for the first time. This is a bad strategy as they will lose their loyal residents like me... My rent was 639, they made it 649 for the comming year and now they're offering the same room for 614 for new residents! That's more than 400$ difference in a year! I'm sorry district, I was really comfortable here but you are making me think that I need to find a way out! And I don' know how can I sublease my apartment when you're offering it for 35$ less!

Now I know why the urgent and the switch up in the application process in least than a weeks time they wanted a bunch of money up front before they even looked at a application and because it wasn't something I couldn't do i did not continue they said oh we just switched management companies and he said no more applications free smh the same management companies that left hundreds without a notice the building was being condemned. Very suspect and this was like the 1st of November.. I pray that everyone effected finds something.. and to the management company that per the news still has not commented about the situation.. you knew I am sure in November what was ha

Lastnight around 10:30PM the power went out and it’s still out as I type this at 8AM. I called the emergency maintenance, they declined my call and text me saying “You need something”🙃 I wouldn’t be calling if I didn’t need something!!! Long story short it seems like everyone that is employed here is useless. I have a baby!! And we had to sleep in a cold apartment last night due to the negligence of the people who run this place. It’s ALWAYSSSSS something, just tear the building down and start over cause it’s hanging by a thread. The pictures they have on the website is BULLSHIT, don’t fall for it. And the amount that they’re charging new tenants is a JOKE!!! Take your money elsewhere fr! And I bet there will be no type of rectification other than USELESS apology. I hate it here and you will too, trust me.

Absolute trash - horrible office management that goes home whenever they feel like it, major (illegal) mail problems, disgusting amenities that get shut down and/or removed, AC goes out for weeks in summer (also illegal), bugs, paper thin walls, plumbing issues, maintenance rigging everything… don’t waste your money or time, they’re not renovating anything worthwhile. PS their pictures are old and/or photoshopped, the pool is literally green for the past few months. Scammers.
