BEWARE OF THE MANY SUSPICIOUSLY GENERIC POSITIVE REVIEWS (more on this below). Read them carefully and judge for yourself please! Security at the standard gainesville is a joke, especially for student housing. One entrance, which is supposed to remain locked and require a key fob, was initially propped open during construction. Although that was understandable temporarily, it continued being left wide open well after construction ended. Additionally, none of the elevator fob readers ever worked during my entire time living here, meaning anyone could use the elevators and access the residential floors without scanning a fob. The secured stairway door on my floor also remained without a handle for months and still had not been repaired when I moved out. The photos speak for themselves. the building was frequently dirty, packages were rarely provided on time, and reception staff were consistently rude and unhelpful. The enormous parking garage is another nightmare. Residents have to park on floor 5 or higher (and often you will have to go to the 7th and 8th apart from during the summer), while people constantly speed through it. I personally witnessed two accidents, including one firsthand. Many positive reviews appear suspiciously generic, often mentioning only that "maintenance was great" while saying almost nothing about the apartments or the experience of living here. Judge them for yourself, but they do not reflect my experience or that of many residents I know. For what students are charged, the poor security, upkeep, and service are unacceptable. Save yourself the frustration and live somewhere else.

Staff up front are awesome very professional kind and great snacks treat employees great as well as the tenants. They are pet friendly and super clean areas. Vip is beautiful especially the pool.they have grill area and special pet areas computer n study rooms two gym areas and a dance studio. Multiple pool tables and areas to relax. Even maintenance is friendly and fix things as fast as they can. I love the service and experience you get at The Standard of Gainesville. Also they hold events every month that are fun to partake in. Great gift bags and I really love every one that makes you want to stay here forever.

I took over a sublease here for the summer out of necessity. For the price of the rent, you should be getting a luxury experience catered to students. That was not my experience at all. The courtyard smells like sewage. The parking lot has no lighting and open access, making it an extremely uncomfortable and unsafe experience to walk in at night. While staying here, practically every thunderstorm that happened caused the power of the entire complex to go out. The wifi, which is crucial for any student to complete assignments, took a very long time to come back on. You might be thinking, just go to campus if the Wifi is out, but libraries close as early as 5 PM in the summer. Their study lounge is an absolute joke. I was not able to get a Wifi signal in the computer lab. The lab had no A/C, and it was impossible to get work done in a hot, stuffy environment. The pool is in a poor state. The fire pits and jumbotron do not work. There are major cracks in the pool deck and trash everywhere. There are no chairs on the pool deck to sit on; you have to lie on hard artificial grass to sunbathe. Beware if your unit is anywhere in the proximity of #17 on your floor. This is where the trash room is located, which is NEVER clean; hand sanitizer is always empty. I cannot imagine living next to this, as you can smell rotting trash from a far distance away. The TVs provided in your unit are slow, old, and often glitch when trying to watch any streaming service. The staff at the front desk are rude and unhelpful for anything besides picking up a package. My move-in experience was extremely stressful, and when I called the office multiple times to ask crucial questions, no one answered. The office had closed early despite the hours listed on the website because the only staff member there wanted to close up early. No other reason. I was struggling to find crucial things, like where to take my trash, how to access the gym, pool, parking garage, and how to set up my Wifi. Imagine trying to move into a place as big as this with no map or internet connection. My move-out experience was not any better. The office was unwilling to work with me on my move-out time; even though I had a class that ended at 3:15, they told me there was no way I could turn in my keys later than noon. Staff told me that they would be entering the units at noon and throwing out anything that was left. How is that accommodating to students? Not to mention the lease ends the week before FINALS of the summer semester. For the price you pay to live here, it is NOT worth it. The pros are few and far between. The maintenance staff is extremely nice and helpful. The location is beneficial to students, as campus and Publix are across the street. They replaced the carpet flooring in the last few weeks I was here, so now you have hardwood floors instead of musty carpet. They also replaced the internet routers in all the units, but I never noticed a difference in the speed or quality of the internet. The gym is nice. The furniture and appliances in the unit are decent. I would still not live here again or recommend it to any of my friends.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The only thing it has going for it is its location. My son moved into his apartment a year ago, and it was absolutely disgusting. The apartment was NOT clean upon our arrival for move-in. We spent many hours cleaning it to make it comfortable enough to leave him there. We contacted management immediately and sent pictures; they didn't care. They only came to fix the "high-priority" items that needed to be repaired, like the front doorknob that would came off into your hand when you went to exit his place. We moved him out this past month, and they had the audacity to keep our deposit because they said the carpets needed to be cleaned (NO KIDDING—we sent you pics of how filthy they were when we moved him in) and that some of the paint was missing from the walls. I am SO GLAD to be done with this place. Oh, and all the other reviews are correct—all the “luxury amenities” they advertise about this complex (big screen TV, etc.) don’t work. Save yourself the headache and a whole lot of money and go somewhere else!

0 Stars. The apartment was delivered dirty, filthy, and without basic sanitation—absolutely disgusting! Management is still ignoring our messages and requests. Shame on Standard Management and the landlord, LM Gainesville LLC.
