I want to start off by saying that the maintenance team here is great. They provided prompt and thorough service for each of my maintenance requests. However, I was very disappointed with how the management team handled the return of my security deposit upon the expiration of my lease. Management wanted to charge me $305 dollars for a full repaint of my apartment. I only lived in this apartment for 10 months and did not do anything to degrade the paint beyond what is ordinary wear-and-tear. When I explained this to management, they did not remove the repaint charge. Instead, they claimed that because they "did not have access to previous tenant records," they didn't know how much damage they could attribute to previous tenants. As a result, they decided to hold me responsible for a full repaint. Only when I pointed out that I was not responsible for keeping previous tenant records did management finally drop the repaint charge. However, I think this attempt to charge me for damage that I was not responsible for reflects very poorly on management.

Me and my Fiancé loved the tour of the complex and they had an offer where they were not charging application fee, screening fee for 2 residents, potentially saving $500. We were told move-in date is 8th August, which sort of worked for us really good. We thought things look just perfect, went home to finish applications and were redirected to payment, we were then told they'd deduct that from first months rent. We were requested our credit scores and proof of income. We complied. We were asked if we had any pets, we didn't. We paid and finished our application within a day after the tour. One week passed and no communication, we expected lease to arrive so that we can sign it. Just empty calls saying we are just finishing up your application. This call happened 2 times each with a gap of a week. After a month or so had past when we called again, we received a message asking both of us yo make a Petscreening account/profile, and we did that. A week pass and nothing. Then all of a sudden we are getting a call from them that they have Just one final apartment left and if we want that we need to sign the lease today, we saw the lease agreement and the move-in date was moved back by a week. We asked why is that and they said that's the best they could do and we have no other option. We were furious. we didn't get an apartment, we are only a few moths away from moving out and we lost about $600. We do our filtering based on Google reviews seeing if ther is something on reddit, and the reviews were OK, and we wanted to move, genuinely. But the whole experience makes us feel we dodged a bullet, I guess we were just not the right fit for them, maybe we didn't check all the boxes they might have on mind but could not put on paper. God knows what would have been the experience after we moved in. We applied else where, and got completely different experience, calls multiple times while finishing the application, leasing team willing to talk to us even on weekends, discounts on application fees and 2 months off. So... It worked out eventually, but Spyglass definitely gave us a headache and took $500 we are never seeing back. if you read this far - - - AVOID.

If I could rate this place zero stars I WOULD! Terrible communication, I had to break my lease and on TOP of still paying my rent that I’m already struggling to pay I had to pay them $250 MONTHS AGO for them to just sit on their hands and not find anyone to move into my apartment. I found a few people and when they went to tour they were told the price would be more than the amount I’m even subleasing for when nothing was said to me??? How am I supposed to find someone to take over my lease if Spyglass can’t even communicate to me properly! Also being threatened to be charged for things going on at the apartment that I’m NO longer inhabiting? RIDICULOUS AND NEVER WILL I EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

My wife, our two dogs, and I, lived in Spyglass Apartments from 2018-2023 and I loved the apartment complex. The thing that I appreciate about the complex is that the manager Lauren, she always kept the complex well maintained. It wouldn’t take but an hour if a tree had fallen, for a clean up crew to be cleaning the mess. That said, there were times in where I did not fully agree with concerns brought by the office but I know that they had to keep the rules set in place. That said, this is great place for those who want a calm and clean place to live with your pet/family.

Whoa! Some full disclosure needs to be made here. Renters beware. This is a typical apartment set up for financially strapped college students. Overpriced for what you get. Model apartment is beautiful, but the apartment you actually get is filthy, worn, cheap, and outdated. Repair list is long and rarely addressed by maintenance. Therefore, repairs become the responsibility of the renter by default due to necessity and lack of property manager's attention. Office staff refuses to text you if you have a package, so it is your responsibility to check everyday for package arrival. "Manager on call" will charge $50 disturbance fee. Taking a left hand turn out of apartment complex is dangerous at best due to high vehicle traffic volume. The good thing is complex has buses that run from apartments to campus. Renters have a utility allowance which barely covers the usage level. If apartment utlilty bill exceeds the allowance, renters are charged the difference. Is this the best? No. Consequently, this will have to do when other options are not available. Renters beware of ALL the conditions and responsibilities; even the ones the sales office fails to inform you about. Update: Been living here for a week now. Out of several maintenance issues that need to be addressed, only one has been resolved by the complex. Moved out and was charged for cleaning, steam cleaning, painting, postage. But when I moved in the apartment was not clean nor freshly painted. Was the prior tenant charged and the work was not completed prior to my move in? Maybe the prior tenant was not charged, but I am. Why would that be? I was not negligent in any way to the property. In fact, I was proactive to the maintenance conditions at the time of moving in!!! IMHO, this organization takes advantage of people from sign in to sign out. Please be careful when agreeing to anything this business does. Based on my experience, the staff says one thing to get you to move in and says another when you move out.
