Never got a chance to live in the apartments (which seem nice), but the management is awful. I had signed a lease and had to back out of it due to some roommate issues, and they told me it would be no problem getting a refund on the security deposit once someone else signed for the unit. 6 months later, multiple unanswered emails, phone calls, visits to the leasing office, and weeks of waiting for a check to arrive in the mail and still nothing.

Hello! I am a second year resident at Red Cedar Flats and I’m very happy that I not only selected Red Cedar Flats as my new home two years ago, but also when I decided to renew my lease this past year and for the upcoming year. My decision to renew two years in a row was because of the short commute to campus and nearby stores, the clean and up-to-date amenities and apartments themselves and the friendly staff. In particular, DJ is very accommodating and is always willing to answer any questions I have about the leasing periods, Addison is so friendly and promptly answers my questions or refers me in the right direction to get them answered, and Cody has always fixed any maintenance problems my roommate and I have had. I am happy to have chosen to live at Red Cedar Flats, I wouldn’t want it any other way!

I live in Red Cedar Flats currently and love the area. The apartment is very nice and the staff is amazing. The maintenance staff, Cody and Bob, are kind and very responsive to any issues faced. They are good at keeping up with issues around the complex as well. The front desk staff is also very nice and willing to help me with issues. Addison always helps me with any problems I run into and finds solutions for me. Overall a 5/5 place to live.

I have really enjoyed my time at Red Cedar Flats. The location is excellent with walking trails that lead right to campus. The units are also clean and spacious. I also have to give a shoutout to the leasing team. They are always helpful on the phone and have answered all my questions about utilities and payments. I cannot recommend Red Cedar Flats enough.

I subleased here. Compared to DTN units, the actual apt felt like luxury. The first issue was noticed upon move in when I had to file multiple maintenance requests. A month came and went and there was no work done. The office kept asking to use our unit for tours. To get them to repair our closet door, I had to tell them they couldn’t tour our unit until the request was finished. It was fixed immediately only so they could continue to tour our unit. I didn’t have any other issues until my lease ended. After I moved out, I was told there was still a rental balance. We ended up figuring out that my roommates parent sent a payment in early, and it was applied to my balance since the office didn’t listen to instructions. So they asked me to pay via authorization form and sent me the amount. I paid and reached out a few days later to verify the matter was resolved. Nobody answered. I emailed again and Priscilla replied saying, “You still owe $20.” When I asked why, she never replied. I called the office to get clarification. They told me my balance was all set on their end but they would double check. They left me a voicemail later on saying “You still owe $20, but we are trying to figure out which roommate should pay it.” ??? After multiple phone calls and emails, DJ the manager admitted that his employee sent me the wrong amount on the form. No apology and it took me weeks to get that explanation. Because of their mistake, they want me to repay the $5 card fee. They are also refusing to give notice in writing that my balance is cleared. Between this, maintenance requests, and having to clarify with the office that I did indeed drop my keys off and literally signed a sheet saying so in front of them, record anything you do with this office. Update: lowered my review from two to one stars after seeing the recent, suspicious amount of 5 star reviews from accounts with only one or no other reviews made. Crazy that they were all uploaded in the last two weeks after my low review—almost like you’re flooding positive ones to cover up honest experiences? Also, the work order you say was completed in a week was for pests— not for the closet door. I can show the large amount of emails I sent asking you guys to fix the problem or stop asking to tour. It was paid on the 13th due to your office MAKING A MISTAKE. The card fee is automatic for the payment authorization, which you surely know. Your excuses don’t align with the written communication I have with your staff. Waiving the late fees was not a curtsey— it was the bare minimum to acknowledge YOUR mistake.
